Jarvis;4577127You could try ripping the NV's from ShoC. Night vision mods? Better/Different Nightvision?

It WORKED! Oh my God!

All I did was to find my good ol' Shadow of Chernobyl .db files extractor, found the anims > nightvision .PPE files (six of them total), and placed them in my Clear Sky's gamedata folder (along with a few other little tweaks of my own) and voila! That's it! It works dammit!

No more will I have to stay still in camps for two hours doing nothing at night time because the default night vision sucks, finally I will be able to play at any moment, man those Bandits will see my face some more you guys can bet on it.

Thanks a LOT Jarvis for pointing me at that thread, it told me the files I had to look for (and I took the default night vision files from vanilla Shadow of Chernobyl, it's enough for me, basically all I wanted was the purple vision one).

I just wish the sound manipulation for the night vision worked the same way it did in SoC :(

It does.

I think I know what you're wanting. Is it that you want to stop the continuous Night Vision "signal"? Because if that's what you want I've done it myself. If that's not what you meant then let me know what you want and maybe I'll be able to figure out something.

I can't do it until I get permission from its original author. I'm still waiting for his answer on this. That would be for a separate mod though. But you can still get them by downloading the actual mod which contains those files.

It's the Oblivion-Lost 2.2 mod. Look for the three following files:

nv_loop nv_start nv_off

Under the following folder:

gamedata > misc > sounds > weapons

Copy or Cut those three files and Paste them all under the same folder structure for Clear Sky, and you're done, no need to restart a game.

Sorry, what I meant was, in the items.ltx in stalker, if you add a comma and a number after the snd call, it will adjust the volume accordingly on a 1 = 100% scale. That no longer works in clear sky. I don't want to be rid of the sound completly, if I did, I'd just comment out the sound IDs.

I suppose if I got ambitious I could open up the actual sound files in something and manipulate their volume manually.

Is it even possible to edit .OGG sounds directly in an audio editor? Or do they have to be converted to .WAV, edited and then converted back?

Honestly, I would probably import them via premiere or something, and work on them in that. I don't know. And I'd actually cut the sound set before I did that.

i don't see what all the fuss is about. I love the new clear sky NVGs better than the old ones. I couldn't see anything with the old ones unless it was the high grade blue vision, otherwise it was all washed out in a bright green that made things harder to see.
