Can I pick unique stashes in the Zone to have specific goodies in them? Like near the end of the game I'd have stashes have 10 medkits, 5 antirads and some food... like useful stuff and not a bunch of 9mm rounds and a loaf of bread.

What files do I need to edit?

TY in advance.

In \gamedata\configs\misc\ there are folders called treasure_.ltx they indicate what stashes have. You can edit the stashes for a particular level to make them hold anything you want however there is no guarantee that the stash will activate.

Why no guarantee? NPCs don't raid stashes...

I think he meant that stash info is still random and it may take several body checks before you land on the one you want.

Still, this is good info. Was wondering a little about this myself. Thanks for the tip, I think I'll add in some of the bigger weapons and whatnot to the suckier stashes, make things a little more interesting.

Precisely what servalion said, you may wipe out every NPC on that level but none of them may have the PDA entry for that stash hence you may not always get it.

I believe someone is working on a mod that makes the later stashes hold much more valuable items or i think the stashes with better items activate only on veteran/master stalkers while the newbies and exp will have mediocre stuff. Either someone is working on it or ive dreamed it up lolz Either way its a nice idea.

I don't know about CS, but in SOC alot of times if I kill a group of let's say bandits. If I save after killing them, but before I loot them. There have been lots of times when I would loot them and I get one set of stash points. Then I load back up. Loot again and get a whole different set of stash points. Also in SOC, when let's say Barkeep only had 5 medkits and 100 buckshot, but I wanted more then that. I would simply buy all he had. Then save my game. Load it back up and he would now have those items again. Does any of this work in CS?

Huh. I had the idea that each stash had a unique ID # and from that you could change what each stash contained. Not so simple it seems. Why they'd be random is a bad developer move I think, you lose control over what the game gives you.

That would defeat the fun of the game if you have to keep reloading the game and killing NPCs to get the stash YOU want. I dont agree with this. I believe this would still work in CS but having to kill everyone and search bodies over and over again until you get a specific stash? Theres just too many.

Why would you even be in control of what the game gives you, it would be pretty silly if the developers let you choose what "random" stash you get and what is in it. Thats the whole point of random loot and going to get it, the adventure of the hunt and the surprise of what you're going to get.

There are different stashes (not sure bout id numbers) but like i said there is a treasure_ file for every level, im guessing any stashes in that level would be in that file. Id recommend going on stalker mods page and finding the SoC mod that enables all the unused stashes and looking at what was changed.
