We need a mechanic that can upgrade ALL upgrades for ALL guns =/ Seriously.
And we need a mod to perform the upgrades that get redded out if you buy the one above/below them.

Yes that is the Obokan. I don't know why they changed the name in CS. As it's wrong in either game anyways. But yes this is called AN96 in CS. Better then the AK74, can do 2-round burst (as the real weapon is meant to due, as this mode gives bursting with the same amount of recoil as a single shot) And in the game it allows installation of PSOP (PSO-1) scope without upgrades. Course for realism they should've allowed the AK74 and AKS74U to use them as well. The AK74 can but requires upgrade from mechanic.
the thing about the an94 is the 2 round burst has an rpm of 1800. it wont recoil until the second round left the barrel. down sides of this good rifle is. it cost 5x more to produce than ak74. less reliable due to it's machenics. less comfortable. and it wont fire with the stock folded. edit. i hate the iron sights on it. they r awfull!! now the 2rd burst make the abakon more accurate than an m16 rifle. funny cause the 5.45 has inferior ballistic and penetration performance than the nato 5.56mm.
I think its very easily doable. Go to \gamedata\configs\misc\ and open inventory_upgrades.ltx and copy ALL the names, now open technics_specialization.ltx and add every single name to every single "fixer" and they should all be able to upgrade any weapons/armor, if you want to do it for a specific one, say the one in freedom or clear sky. Id prefer clear sky because they say they study the zone and are very secluded so it would make sense for them to have better scientist/technics plus if you want a master of all trades youd have to travel ALL the way back so its a nice trade off for having a guy that can do EVERYTHING.
My current save is not near a "fixer" so i cant test this but im pretty certain it will work, just make sure there are no duplicates.
Is it possible to make new upgrades? For example the FN 2000 can't be upgraded.
im sure its possible, just by looking at the weapons folder. im a theory guy so you're going to have to experiement on your own. But looking at the files there is an upgrade folder with a weapons name and a "_up" prefex so im sure you can make a new file for w_fn2000_up.ltx and tweak your own stuff. The only thing is you're going to have to declare it in the actual weapons ltx file so like w_abakan.ltx you would see tags that would refer to w_abakan_up.ltx files.
Also you may need to add it to the weapon_upgrades.ltx file which i think points to the ui icon as well as the description which meens you need to add encyclopedia entries or you can simply reuse ones from similar weapons.
Ive looked in the "tecnic" files before which are the upgrade guys and it dosent seem like you would have to change anything in there aside from actually just adding w_fn2000 line so that they are able to do the upgrades.
There's already an fn2000 upgrade file. It just needs to be added to a mechanic. They probably left it out because you get the fn2000
