Guys is it me or does anyone else have this problem where "help" does NOT arrive even days and days after you have taken a base?? I am in garbage and id like to help the stalkers take the depot before i continue with the main storyline, but i agreed to help the stalkers at the receiving post take the one thats just south of the car park place.. but doing so got all the team killed by the huge amounts of bandits that are already in the car park.. which kinda made me think the devs havent thought that little mission out very well. Anyway, once I killed all the remaining bandits it said "hold the object until help arrives" and really i was waiting like 30 mins before I decided to go help the flea market and go about my business. about 2 game days later after doing the whole of dark valley and even getting friendly with Freedom, the place I helped take STILL isnt in anyones hands, with the mission still telling me to hold it :( Ive tried everything I can think of to fix this.. I even pulled a bunch of bandits to that area to see if it would trigger something off but no luck. There doesnt seem to be any way of "cancelling" a mission like i seem to remember there being in Stalker SoC. I thought maybe there is a way to force the mission to fail or cancel via the command window so I can take the mission again? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Cheers :)
Having the same issue on my current play through, except worse. If I leave the depot after wiping out everything in it, it will respwan bandits within a couple of minutes. This happened twice in a row, and I thought "BLEH" to wasting my ammo on them a third time.
I think that the NPCs must spawn somewhere so once you clear out an area check your map if some friendly stalkers have made their way from cordon/agro or dark valley. Chances are something attacks them on the way to the car park and wipes them out, same for the next wave.
Oh and ive also heard that even if you clear out the depot completely and friendly stalkers make it to the depot, you will immidiately incur the wraith of about 5 waves of mutants one after another trying to clear out the stalkers.
Yep, I fended off the wave of mutants. There was a hoard of boars and a hoard of dogs, then one final hoard of boars. The boars were very determined to wipe out the last remaining bandits. They completely ignored me standing in the entrance to the base and ran straight in, up the stairs, to the far balcony and mauled the guy there.

Anyways I'm also having this problem. The second I leave the hanger 5 groups of bandits spawn and they retake the depot. I've litterly waited 20 ingame days for the friendly stalkers to arrive (AMK sleeping bag mod ftw) and noone ever came. Then more bandits spawned the second I left the hanger and immdiately killed my ass.
Probably because the other stalkers got killed. Had they not got killed it would've completed. Not that it should be that way but I saved the stalkers and then when I left the area it gave the completion signal and told me to come get my reward. It should at least cancel out though even if you didn't save the stalkers. Yet another bug.
I'm having a similar problem at the flea market. I fought off hoards of bandits and mutants. Wave after wave. Finally the waves stopped and there is no other enemiy in sight. But the stalkers are on gaurd still and the mission won't cancel out. It still says help fight off the enemy at the flea market but there is no enemies now. I waited for the longest time. I finally took a few other missions and then I go back to check on the flea market and they are still on alert saying "it's not over yet". hahaha I finally gave up on it. ha
Personally i just think its GSCs way of keeping the bandit faction alive, because if you kill off every single bandit in the depot then the whole bandit faction nearly seizes to exist. I havent finished CS yet and i havent gotten too far because AMK sleeping bag screwed up my game but ive only seen groups of bandits in the garbage area. The rest were scripted in agro underground and i think there were either mercs or bandits in dark valley.
Lol, @ the drunken boar! I have to laugh sometimes when the game seems to send 8 snorks against a brand new stalker camp after they have only just taken it and 2 secs later its a graveyard! Snorks seem tougher than they were in SoC. After a couple of days the mission finally completed itself lmao, while i was exploring Aprogram or w/e its called I got the nod to go take the depot! Was very excited and rushed back to kill all the banditos only to find that they spawn again almost instantly after setting foot outside the depot -.- Ive taken the depot like 5 times now.. no stalkers ever came :( Blah I think once the patch comes i will restart the game, im sick of all the unbalanced things in the game.. the flea market is COVERED with shotguns and vipers from a million bandits who have died raiding it.. wave after wave, they dont stop coming.. and I thought taking the depot would slow that down but I cant even do that :( I kinda wish I had waited a few months for the patches to fix the main bugs before playing tbh! Oh well, atleast we have the modding community to boost the replay value so we can enjoy the game bug free... ONE DAY! Thanks for everyones posts :)
I have the same problem when I join Freedom and wipe out Duty at the selected points of the map. I kill all duty in Garbage and wait for Freedom to come, which they do after 3 days... we hole up at the main entrance to Agropom and they just stand there. I went into Agropom and killed everyone but the lone stalkers at the first facility [in SOC where you save Mole]. I wiped out all duty but for the commander who seems to be invincible, I put 2 clips of my .45 SIG into his head [base clearing with pistol is lots of fun]. So if I can't kill the duty commander does that mean that I can't clear Agropom completely? I've killed about 50 duty soliders and looted them all [made $100,000 in 2 trips, it's nuts] but they keep respawning. Any ideas to reclaiming the Duty base?
erm, thats odd.. i 1 hit head shot him while i was in stalker faction. But not tried it as working for Freedom yet. Maybe you could try lobbing grenades through the door until he either dies or comes out? If not then you could use a faction mod to see if it fixes things?
