A few questions about teh capabilities of STALKER 1. Will it support X64 bit like Vista or the 32-to-64 patch upgrade? 2. Will it support Pixel Shader 3.0 on the next-gen cards? 3. Does it come on CD or DVD? 4. Will it require online activation of content like Steam?

1 no 2 no 3 dvd and cd 4 no

1, its highly unlikely that they will strip and remake the entire engine again for little performance boost. 25fps max im estimating.

2, it shouldnt, but our ATI card will bump out PS 2.2, wich is good enough. there is really no graphic or performace diffrence in PS3.0, the trechnology needs to be refined and more features added. ps 2.2 with max AA and AF looks just the same as 3.0 images iv carefully studied.

3, its one or the other, im guesing DVD, a CD version is most likely. remember painkiller with 6 cd's???....oh god...DVD i hope.

4, stalker will be stalker, no other secondary clients. PREY on the other hand, using a modded d3 engine, will have a client to distribute it only. stalker? no, no client.

there will NOT be a 64 bit version of stalker. unless i missed something in the last month, i highly doubt it. there was talk of this on the offical forums and there not doing it. sorry stalker. they havent worked on any 64 bit technology yet, and it would take them another years work for them to finish rebuilding the engine to suit the processors benifits. its not happening. stalker howevery MAY, run on a 64bit OS like mine, with some of the features enabled at least, it would still run in 32 bit mode, but at least some of the brilliant archetecture would be used better.

When they redid the engine to work with DX9, I heard that is when they made it for 64bit, it has always been optimized for 64bit...as far as i know, i have heard nothing about it only being 32bit.

Well it's best just to wait until something official, I haven't heard anything about them doing or not doing a 64 bit version.

Hi ppls, im new here yeah im a newbie, but i agree with some of these people, besides, adding steam will make it worse to buy the game, thats about the only reason i havent gotten HL2, but im sure there will be a 64 bit version, if not, there would be at least an fps increase
