Hey, im gonna start saving money up unitl May and get a really good computer. I think I would like to buy a comp from a Place like dell or hp. I think i would be able to build my own pc but i like the idea of good customer support and if I get a problem BAM its fixed. So do you guys have any good ideas for a computer. I think i may wanna get an AMD 64 for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R 64 version. But, what you guys think?

Build your own. :) Thats what I did, and I don't regret it. It's cheaper that getting a pre-built one because you aren't paying them for building it for you. A great place to look for parts is: www.newegg.com

Well an AMD 64 will cost quite a bit more than a P4, but it could be worth it in the long run. I have heard Dell are a decent company, but make sure you're getting a good graphics card [One of the most important things for gaming].

You would be better off finding a shop near you that builds pc's for you.....you choose what parts you want, and they build it together and install and software you need for you....

Grim_GromI have heard Dell are a decent company

No, you heard wrong. Dell aren't a good company...their customer support sucks, and their PCs have crap specifications, and they break after about half a year.

Dell should be renamed to hell...they suck.....build your own, its amazing how cheap it is.... www.newegg.com and www.tigerdirect.com are good sites... and also search www.pricewatch.com

yea i know that it is cheaper to build your own pc, and i have the basic idea of how to, but someone would have to teach me. But i like the idea of customer support, and if you have something wrong bam new pc in 2-3 days. oh well idk

Well, neither had I until I got my new pc...try going into your nearest town/city and finding a small-ish shop that sells computer stuff, and ask if they build PCs for you.....dont be put off by the shop not being well known, the shop I got my pc from is small, but they did a damn good job of building it.......just tell them what parts you want in it, and they will try to get it for you.... If you can't find a shop that does that, then you could try building it yourself, but that way you have to buy all the parts etc....
