NO, is not the true ending. For get the best ending possible you need found the secret lab inside chernobyl (sarcophagus) and open the door with the decoder that you find in Pripyat.

I'm not going to spoil things, but be prepared to fight once you get through that door to the labs. :D If you want to know what you will have to do, read the spoiler below:

Spoiler: Show
You will go through the door an have to face about 20-25 enemies in a grid shaped area, with gates and grills blocking passages. You may want to save some of that 5.56 ammo for later, since the enemies in Stancia 2 use G36s (GP37). Once you get through the labs, you will meet a hologram. This is where you decide the ending. The bad True ending is accepting to join C-Consciousness. The Good and Best ending is to refuse. You can kill the hologram. (He only has some vodka on him, so it's not that important). Turn and walk out of the door behind you. You will face roughly (not too sure, did it 2 weeks ago) 50 Monolith grunts, G36s and RPGs, Maybe one or 2 with Gauss. You will also fight about 120 Exo Monolith, G36s and Gauss. Some enemies you can snipe, but others teleport in when you get close. Jump through all the portals and when you jump through one of them a cutscene will appear. This is the best ending. I wont say what happens, that would be mean.

You can get in using the decoder or using the gun door jam thingy. Use with gauss, its the best. Only use this if you didn't talk to Doctor or Guide. Hope this helps anyone who wants to know anything, Nzambi

Try ABC if you want, its a very good mod. I'm not too keen on Faiakes, it seems poor in some aspects. Where ABC is perfectly done to optimise the best of each part of the game, Faiakes is more of a "throw everything in and try to make it work together." EDIT: Faiakes is more of a "play for success" mod rather than a "play for the fun of it" mod. You can try it, but it's a compilation of about 20 different mods lol. I don't want to be mean to Faiakes, it's a good mod, but it's just gone too far in the way of stuff to do. It's a more serious mod, rather than fun. Faiakes also makes you take a specific route, having to buy the silenced MP5 and GROZA to get anywhere, and it has too much in it. This becomes annoying because you can get all the best weapons in the game before you reach Rostok (bar) I would advise ABC and perhaps try Dez0waves freeplay mod. That might help you do more endings and see both true endings with great ease. People say the redux mod is good, but i haven't tried it and the same goes for Basix. Try Dez0wave's Freeplay and rspeed's ABC mod (not together, well you can try). You know how to contact me if you need me, it's in my signature. Hope this may help, Nzambi

well the most current version of the ABC mod has free play in it - "Free Play" You can finish the game as many times as you want and when you finish for the 1st time, the next time when you go to NPP level, there will be no radiation during the blowout, so you can explore more and once you finish the game with true ending or join the C-Consciousness project or refuse to join, then you wake up in one of those "dead trucks" so yeah. ;)

The extended ending is very easy and very linear. The enemy never rushes you like some parts earlier in the game, with the exception of the very end if you get crazy and try to run and gun it. All you need do is use stealth and pick them off a little at a time as you go. The extended ending is different in look and gameplay from the rest of the game, but pretty much a let down challenge wise. The first part of it however can be tough without good nightvision, but even that is a matter of knowing who's where and choosing whom to shoot first and where and when to advance. Using a weapon like the Vintar BC with it's semi long range scope and silencer and taking advantage of the places enemies congregate in the light can make it possible even without nightvision.

I suppose >Omen<, but by that time i left my Vintorez (BC) at the beggining of the sarcophagus. Mainly coz i got a Gauss gun at that point and it sorta renders the Vintorez useless. Apart from silent sniping. But who wants to hit people at range, when you can get right up their ass and paint the walls with their blood. (Combat Chaser, anyone?)

Yeah, I must admit I love the Combat Chaser too, but in that part of the game rushing forth before killing from a distance is suicide on Master. It's cool how you can just charge Bloodsuckers with a CC and drop them in 2 to 3 rounds point blank though. The way they often run willy nilly however I sometimes use a choke point like a doorway and lure them in. I don't think I've even tried the CC with slugs or darts yet. It's pretty effective even with shot at close range.
