ok i just need to get this off my chest so here goes: I think that faiakes mod is great, but the last versions suck, because of the monsters! there were clear reasons why they were removed(zombies were too strong, bureres were no fun to fight and were buggy...), and now they put them back in without fixing the problems:mad:... If the problems were fixed then MAYBE id like faiakes again. It used to be a great mod but the monsters make STALKER too overcrowded, even more buggy, and just plain boring. Maybe some people like them, but for me, they ruined this mod. If faiakes would make a mod with the option NOT to include the monsters, or just fix their bugs at least, then this mod might be good again, but for now, this mod sucks:bawl:.

yeah .. sometimes that happens. You know it's hard to make everybody happy; some like lots of monsters and others don't; some like to see what's possible in the game evn if that makes game much harder, and some like to stay with just slightly modified GSC storyline. The good news is that you've now seen almost everything that's possible in STALKER including many of the features that were removed by GSC (for better or worse). The good news is also that there are so many mods to try that you'll almost certainly find something you like. I also know that Faikes listens to its base of users and he does make changes. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the next version ... or at least you'll see an effort to regulate better things you are talking about :)

@1 If you have a lot of time can go into gamedata>config>creatures>[name of creature].ltx you can compare the values there with the original values or with other monsters and play around with it to make the creatures weaker/stronger to ur likes.:)

what kind of bugs are you seeing? I wish there were more mobs than he put in lol. Being able to run as fast as you can in this game, it kinda makes you immune to most dangers in the first place. Though I do think that sometimes there could be a small group of mobs getting ready to kill me and I wouldn't even know it until the last moment because they barely make themselves known, but that's part of the scare factor.

If i could, i would remove/modify the monsters, believe me, but i just suck at writing scripts and stuff like that. And i do believe it would actually be kinda simple for faiakes to make a version without the monsters, or an option to include them or not. I do hope he makes a version like that soon...

My only problem is the Psi-Fields. Sure, having them is okay, adds a bit of "I'm here, in this wake of a Nuclear Melt down and all this stuff is going on and such.", but the way they modified the psi-effects pisses me off. For one, the Ghost Monsters that attack but do no damage, they spawn 20 at a time, and not with extreme exposure, JUST STEPPING INTO THE VERY EDGE. Plus, the fact that I'm usually fighting other humans while I'm being bombarded by shaky aim, discoloration, WALLS OF GHOST MONSTERS (Which I can shoot through, but enemies can see and shoot through.), and all that crap, while they fight clear minded while being effected by the same mind spanking cloud of psi-field. If the power and number of those monsters was reduced, I'd be happy, but until then, I'll avoid those damn fields.

With what he's suggesting, you could be a total idiot and customize the game to fit the way you want it. Really, all you have to do in that file is open it in Notepad, use the find tool and search for Health, find it and lower the number value from what ever it is to something lower. IE: Blood suckers have the following bit of code icon = ui_npc_monster_krovosos MaxHealthValue = 400.0 ; range [0..200]

ef_creature_type = 13 ; option for evaluation functions ef_weapon_type = 3 ef_detector_type = 1 panic_threshold = 0.1

cform = skeleton ; collision class class = SM_BLOOD ; AI class

script_binding = bind_monster.bind

bone_head = bip01_head ; bone name bone_fire = bip01_head weapon_usage = 0 ; boolean

Spawn_Inventory_Item_Section = mutant_krovosos_jaw Spawn_Inventory_Item_Probability = 0.2

Lower those values. Want them to die from the Radio Active Breeze? change both of those to 1 and a fart could kill them.

The Lynx's are okay, they're just a different model of the blind dogs (Without the chance for a tail :( ) but yeah, the SWARMS of Wolf Rats can piss you off.

I about to fire the very first shot at the Gauss Rifle Scammers over at the Pig Farm when a Wolf Rat jumped up and bit my bottom. Scared me enough I shot the guy in the face then ran for cover to figure out what happened. Turned around to see the ground chasing me... Well, I went from having to fight 7 Alert and Full Health loners to fighting 30-40 wolf rats, 4 or 5 blind dogs, 1 alert Loner, and one critically wounded loner... They exacted my revenge :(

One more problem, the hyper-increased spawn rates. I fount a total of 18 Zombies (Brain Scotched STALKERS that could fire guns.) in a cluster I had to fight, with two grounds of 6 and 8 before hand. And later on, whereONE Snork is supposed to spawn, I was faced with 8 that just popped out of thin air. I cursed, jumped off my chair, and wasted 200 bullets than I needed to back peddling for 3 or 4 minutes just spraying at the little monsters. That's not scary, hard, nor surprising, that's just plain annoying.

Well the Snorks are my lesser concern, since most often a single shotgun blast at them will take 'em down, and I like to save up a lot of shotgun ammo... you know... in a gunslinger-crazy-bloodthirsty-rampage kind of way :D But the rats... I know this is repetative... but I can't stop hating the rats >_< they rarely kill you and all, but seriously...
