The sp was short and has no replayability, so I though the MP will be good or fun. Its very laggy and I doubt they will fix that anytime soon. It took them 5 years to come up with a game that just doesn't show it, I doubt they will fix the MP.

Gonna drop this game for command and conquer 3. It sucks that I 've wasted my money, I'll be more careful before touching another GSC product again.

For me it has been worth every penny, if fact i would have gladly paid the average price of $49.99 for it

You have to remember, GSC isnt a big company, and this is new territory for them. They went in with too much, stuff they couldn't get done. Hell, i dont even think some of the "big name" western devs could have pulled it off.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I disagree with you 100%

I don't mind the unpromised stuff. I mind the story being total crap and too short. And when I buy a game and rate it, I don't take in acount the company, only the quality.

It is like Oblivion, only with guns. I like it. It is a little tough though. I really don't have any idea what I am doing yet, but the weather effects are amazing. I am going to take my time doing lots of odd jobs & side missions. I haven't played a good single player story in a while.

Which ending did you get?

There is only one that really ties the story together

What did you do, sit down and play for 10+ hours straight and try to rush through it? The game just came out! No wonder why you didn't enjoy it...

S.T.A.L.K.E.RYou have to remember, GSC isnt a big company, and this is new territory for them. They went in with too much, stuff they couldn't get done. Hell, i dont even think some of the "big name" western devs could have pulled it off.

You're right. I also think they were ready to call it quits a few times but held through and in my opinion, they did a kick ass job in the end. S.T.A.L.K.E.R is an action-adventure game and people need to remember that. It's not your typical FPS, or atleast it's not meant to be. They've added elements into this game that I've seen in games like Commandos, Fallout, etc. I love that about this game. It also creeps the shit out of me when I play with surround on, in the middle of the night. Not many games can do that.

If you research their sites (GSC) you'll see that it has quite an in depth story and background to it. So much infact that the devs themselves spent alot of time at the actual Chernobyl site. They also talk about their invision and how they picture a world (or area, aka 'The Zone') if the disaster of Chernobyl was more severe and/or more exposed.

I guess it depends how you look at it. If you're in it looking for the next FPS, like Doom, or Halo or something along those lines, you won't get what you seek. If you're looking for action and adventure in an open world of mystery, where your actions can play an effect, then this is a game I'm sure you'll enjoy.

Personally, this is my second night playing. I spent a good time in the game last night and a few hours this evening. I'm trying not to over-play it or play too much. I want to take my time and enjoy it, but when I'm watching a movie or something all I can think about is getting back into the game!

Great game. Still in shock that it's out and I'm playing it.

We're all titled to our personal opinions and I'm sorry you didn't get the satisfaction you were looking for out of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. However you might want to take your time next time and enjoy the game for what it is and pace yourself. Not every game is meant to be completed and replayed within the same week. ;)

Cheers.

Heh not really. I got it on the 21st and played a few hours each day. Doing sidequests, exploring, going back and forth to sell useless crap and doing the mainquest. No rushing.

I know your saying the game is great, thats because you didn't finish it. Or you would realized how bad they made it. The beginning looks good, but thats just cosmetic. Towards the end, its no different than doom3. And once you enter red forrest, every RPG element is gone. And even though there is a story on the site, in game the story has huge gaps and its not even a story. Just finish it, then come back. Half the people who finished this game are dissapointed.

Remember, this is a 5 year game. They have nothing to show for it. It looks like they worked on it for 2 years, not 5.
