hi there, im sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, but i gotta ask. witch graphic card is better 9800gtx or gtx260? cause my local pc-store doesnt have the 9800gtx anymore, and i wanted to get it saturday when i got my salary. -_-. but now they got the gtx260, but i really wanna play clear sky with god rays and other new graphic stuff.

or maybe the gtx280? but that one is 100 euros more expensive than the 260. and thats a shame. and can someone explain the difference between ddr2 and ddr3?

and is it possible to put ddr2 memory in my computer, i have a motherboard witch supports my 8600gt-silent, witch is ddr3, makes that my motherboard ddr3? and means that that i cant have ddr2 memory? tnx.

Here is some info on relative speed across a variety of games.

As for the memory issue, the GPU has its own independent memory bus, it is not linked to the motherboard at all. Some of the new ATI cards actually use GDDR5 which is unavailable on motherboards...

As long as that is what your motherboard accepts. Most take DDR2 at various speeds, so you should be ok, but I'd check first.

Wiow Ummma, that link you provided is shocking!

I knew my card was relatively shit in today's terms, but OMG:

My card (8800GTS 320) got 1 FPS!! A single GTX260 got 12FPS and getting 21FPS in SLI!

It's very much time I bought a new GPU!!

In general, 'Gaming Laptop' makes as much sense as 'Racing Scooter'. Sure, it is faster than other scooters, and may be a thrilling ride, but put it next to a GP Bike and it is just unfit for purpose.

The only ones that are any good have serious cooling problems and require mains cables for more than 10 mins activity.. makes you wonder why have a laptop... :s

As far as graphics goes, within 12 - 18 months the world is about to get tipped on its head, both for sheer gaming grunt, and flexibility for those of us that do anything else with our PC's.. Prepare yourselves. ;)
