well to originally join duty or any other faction you have to do alot of mission for them.then they become your friends,if you want to join them fast they have a mod called ABC mod..get the ABC mod with the ABC v1.0 update (you need the original ABC mod in order to use the v1.0 update),then get the small patch fix...in the begining you can join factions like duty, monolith ETC but don't choose the monolith other wise you will have NPC's shooting at you all over the place...i tried it onced....it's not fun LOL

if you play the game UNMODed then you can only choose to join Duty or Freedom. if you do enough for either then they will switch you to FRIEND status, BUT once that happens... the other group will switch you the ENEMY status and shoot at you on sight... even if you have not attacked them.

your call, make a base save before helping either of them out so you can go back later and join the other group and see how it all plays out.

enjoy.

Hi..

You can be friend with both Duty and Freedom at the same time. It's explained somewhere in this forum. But obviously, if you JOIN a faction then the other one switch to enemy.

It's rather strange to see 'green dots' (friends) to shoot at each other later in the game.. :D

To"join" seems quite misleading, it's more like "befriend" with. As TWD has mentioned, you can do most of their missions first before decided to kill off one of the other. Or none, or both.
