I just finished the game getting the "rich" ending. I would like to go get the other endings, but whats the point. From what I've read here there's not much difference.

The AI is impressive, and its great, too bad its very isolated from the gameplay and story as a whole.

This game is about getting the artifacts, but what exactly is the point? Artifacts are probably the most abundant thing in this game. Thy're everywhere, some are packed 5 in 2 by 2 meters. That kills it.

Most weapons in this game are good, but the bad thing is ussage. 80% of the game you will probably use an Ak with a scope. By the time you get good guns, its towards the end of the game. Whats the point of the Gauss rifle, you barely have a chance to shoot it..... Or the RPG, you don't even have a chance ot get to it.

The game is obviously rushed, but not only that, its also unfinished. In the english version, the radio voice in the powerplant is Russian. Nice, everything else is in English, they must have forgot that part.

Most of the quests are boring and theres no point in doing them. You don't need money since you have nothing to buy. The main quest is good till you have to enter monolith territory. From then on, the plot and everything goes to hell.... You can only join duty and freedom, and even if you do, its nothing special. Few boring quests here and there and thats it.... The part between the town and the plant is missing. You kind of teleport there and theres no connection at all. WTH, and you can't get back ever.....

Also, its extremely short! I heard somewhere its around 30 hours of gameplay, if you do the mainquest only. BS. The only way you can possible get 30 hours is if you just walk around the zone from beginning to end a dozen time. Also, 80% of the enemies in game are bandits or other stalkers, or monolith. I saw less than 30 bloodsuckers in this whole game. Only 2 controlers, and 3 pseudogiants. And I've been to all the places!!!!!!! Theres only one blowout in the game, and its scripted to hell. There's an RPG, but its towards the end, and you can't get to it. The Mercs and Monoliths attack on sight, with no explanation. There is only one science camp in this whole game. Basically only 2 live scientists!!! 3 if you save on of them, but most likely he will die.

Its such a shame, the game has very impressive AI, but too bad the gameplay is horrible. Gothic 3 has crap AI, but at least it has a decent story and its long..... STALKER is short, the story is crap, and it doesn't answer anything...... You can't get answers to anything........ I feel like I wasted my time and money......

After I was disappointed with Armed Assault, I thought this game will be great. After all the anticipation. I got it straight when it came out in the US, but as my instincts said, I should have skipped it.

Understandable, not everyone will like the game. I am exporing a little bit myself, and I obtained a nice sniper rifle, an awesome suit, and a good Rifle with a scope+grenade launcher+silencer. There is another ending, which lets you play on to the other side of the Chernobyl Plant, only about 30+ minutes of extra gameplay, but you get to see the whole Chernobyl Plant. People seem to rush through the game, finishing the main story line. If you explore, and do more other side quests, you get better gear, weaponry, etc. I am hoping a mod will arrive that will change all maps into explorable areas with different types of creatures.. for example, the Chernobyl plant would be filled with Pseudogiants, and Bloodsuckers.. mutated creatures etc.

I expected to fight with mutants and other freaks a lot more, not with bandits and military. But I agree with the guy above, you have to explore the Zone and have fun killing mutants and other badguys and finding new stuff. Ofcourse it's short and boring if you only do the main quest, I finished the game too and got the "rich" ending, at first I was kind of dissapointed but then I started a new game and started doing sidequests and exploring the Zone, it was a lot more fun than before.

A lot was scripted, including helicopters. Boiling Point: Road to Hell wasn't that great, but at least the military helicopter patrols were consistent.

Meh, most of the sidequests and boring and pointless. Joining Freedom is bugged, and joining Duty is bugged. You can't join anything else. If you join Freedom, you won't be able to access the bar area since its Duty controled. If you kill all the Duty, they will spawn back in 5 minutes. If you join Duty, you can't go to red forrest since the border is Freedom controled  And even if you join, you just get some boring sidequests and thats it.

From the Red Forrest and on, Stalker becomes a regular FPS. In the last level, I felt like I was playing doom3, shooting my way from coridor to coridor. Also, there is no plot connection between the stuff before Red Forrest.

HL1 which was short, was longer. The plot of Stalker is almost missing. Good in the beginning, really bad towards middle and end.

I did a heck of a lot of sidequests, but most felt boring and pointless. Most of the time I got money, but I have nothing to buy. I already had a bad ass suit, pretty good guns, and everything I need. Even a sniper rifle (Too bad you can't find or buy ammo.)

Like stated before, not everyone will like the game. The other ending, if you continue trying to find Strelock actually explains the whole story and wraps it up nicely. Also, the bar itself isnt controlled by Duty, they're all "loners". Only a piece of the map is controlled by Duty, just avoid that area.

Going in and out of the Bar area is duty controled. Inside the bar, there are 2 duty members that will shoot at you, and you can't have a weapon inside the bar, so your dead.

The other endings blow just as much, if you read other forums. And if you follow the story, you'll find out that Strelok is actually you. And if you follow the story you find out that the end has no connection to the beginning, and its really bad.

Its not even a spoiler. The plot is so lousy connected that it doesn't even matter who Strelok is or does. In fact, the end of the game has nothing to do with Strelok. They should have cut all that crap out along with the monolith crap (not the faction), hire a damn writer, and come up with a decent fricking story.

But nooo, they decided to cut up a heck of a lot of monsters, make the other ones super rare, and cut out a lot of guns.

-There are only 3 shotguns in the whole game. One of them you only get towards the very end wehre you have less than 30 minutes of gaming, and you can't go back. -Rats, rodents are not even in the game. Gordon must have chased them all  -The only cool monsters like the controlers, psudogiants, and the other invisible monster (not the bloodsucker) is scripted to some area only. -Bloodsuckers are roaming around in Dark territory, but they are really rare.

On the other hand, the whole world of ungergound criminals decided to come to Chernobyl.

It's called roleplaying, when you rush from checkpoint to checkpoint for the main quest it's a choice you make. You're not playing like a stalker that is exploring the Zone.

If you do sidequests you get items and weapons much earlier. Change your playstyle and quit complaining.
