Does anyone else think that this game is the only one with the most real reload animations? The only problem I've seen is that when reloading in the middle of a clip, you still hear the slide release sound. But in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat, the animations are terrible! The slide never locks back after emptying a clip, and the slide is always pulled back by the player whenever you reload, regardless of how many shots are still in the gun. These little things get to me and keep me from wanting to play either game and just stick with SHoC.

Shadow of Chernobyl had better anims, I think.

And if your pistol was empty, you pull it out, and when the player cocks it, it says back! Great detail. Clear Sky didn't have that, which sucks :(

However... there may be a way to transfer the reload anims from SHoC to CS or CoP, as its the same data files. -David

I do agree. Also, the sounds are very realistic, as if they actually had some recordings of some of them. The AK's however are a bit more clanky as if they used the sounds from a Norinco Chinese modified AK-47 or MAK-90 rifle, both with a stamped receiver istead of the forged receivers on earlier models. I have semi auto versions with forged and stamped, and there is a distinctive sound difference. Listening to all the reload sounds of SoC, I think they used several of the same sounds for more than one weapon. Regardless, compared to CoD series, and other FPS games, SoC has the most realistic sounds and animations.

I gotta agree.

CoD is fun, but SHoC is, I guess you could say, gritty. CoD is realistic in that you just change mags when you haven't emptied the clip, which I love a game got that right.

SHoC also features a few unique weapons, or ones that are common but not in video games, like the FN 2000 and LR-300. -David
