Hey people, some of you may remeber me posting random crap, but anyway onto the subject.Me and my mate's are going to town tomorrow and i was gonna buy stalker for my birthday(im 14 today!!!) but after looking at the stalker screenshots it looks brilliant! but the gun detail too crap and i read about that the weather changes and that the npc's have a way of life like the pig mutants that sleep, eat and explore. And that you can join little stalker groups but is any of this true? and a very big envioment? please tell me what you can do in stalker shadow's of chenolobyl and your opinions on the game thanks ;)

get it, patch it to the latest and just play through. it's fairly open got lots of things for you to kill and gets harder as you play, if you like first person shooters and rpgs like oblivion you should get along fine with this.

Patch 1.001 had lots of SP fixes. The latest 1.003 has a combo of SP and MP fixes. The next SP patch is going to be the most significant change though and they are talking of releasing the SP SDK with it. Regardless of what you think of the existing patches and their change logs though you should really update to v1.003 just because most of the better mods evolving are being made compatible with it. I recommend playing through the game a couple times unmodded, then read up on the many mods available and decide how you want to change the gameplay if at all. The mods are really what keep the game interesting.

Indeed. Although a slight warning; If you read that the A-life thing was gonna work as realistic as possible, I must add that NPC's as well as mutants has restrictions as of where they can go. Although most of the other stuff is true. Although there is mods that removes these restrictions as well. And to be frank... I don't think you want to remove the restrictions if you play it for the first time... you might get ambushed and litteraly over-pwned if NPC's starts to crowd up in some places ;) Otherwise I advice you to buy this game. I never had one regretful thought that bought it... well at least not after the 1.0001 patch xD I don't know if it's too late to post here, and I probably think it will, but I wanted to share my thoughts anyway ^^
