and I'm pressed for ammo - I'm barely into the game at all, and I'm having to fight of bandits with AK47s and the likes with a knife.

Where would I buy ammo from? Is there a trade option somewhere? Thanks.

Go back to the trader, the building you walked out of, he sells weapons and ammo and other stuff.

But you won't have much money, so pick up weapons and artifacts, sell those to him and then you'll have money to buy stuff.

Okay, will do - is there a button I have to press in order to trade with him?

I can see that he can repair my weapons - but I can't see anything for purchasing items.

start a conversation with him and then look al the way down, there is a button witch says "trade". press that and then you get another screen. A square on the left with items in it is your backpack. On the right are all his items you can buy. Good luck shootin' bandits

Ah - Wow, I can't believe I missed that. Thanks. I just sold a shotgun, and shotgun ammo - and bought myself more ammo for the pistol.

However, I'm having a trouble with one of the basic missions - the clear an area of mutants mission. There seems to be a never-ending horde of mutants around there - I've spent 20 minutes shooting at passing dogs, but sometimes the area has a 100 m radius in which it's completely clear. Ideas?

EDIT: I'm running Oblivion Lost mod.

Wow I'm amazed and impressed that you went through the entire game once, without noticing you could trade!

I was very careful with who I killed - and I always looted the corpses.

However, after I completed it, I read about the trade function - so now I want to play it through with that.

I always had to go for head shots, though - but it made the game a lot more challenging.

Really embarrassed that I never noticed the big 'TRADE' button before, though. Heh.

Yes, that mission is stupid. Sometimes dogs run far from their lair and you have to search them to bring them down. However, you could just do something else and return to the position later. The dogs should come back after a while.

I just stand in the mill(?) for a half a minute and jump around while I wait for the AI to bring themselves back...

Yeah, however, the AI tweaks in the modification make it nearly impossible to 'hunt them down', I think I was reading on the features that the modification allows creatures to roam the whole map - so I have no idea what I'm meant to be killing, because sometimes the area is empty, and sometimes it's packed. :/
