For as long as I have been playing this game I can't believe that I still can't tell the difference between a whirligig and a vortex. They look the same to me. I even tried walking into what I though was a whirligig. It sucked my around in a circle and blew me up, then it lifted my dead body into the air, spun it around and exploded me. What was it??? And are they really different at all?
I think whirling and vortexes are the same  but the general idea is to not walk into any of them :uhm:
they are same/diffrent. one spins you u on the ground, the other in the air.
But they give different artifacts. I'd like to know which places to check for certain artifacts.
One lifts you into the air (whirligig) the other (vortex) sucks you in and it is difficult to get out of it, you don't fly in the air though. An example of a vortex is on the road in the army warehouse area at the fork one to the Red Forest the other to the Merc camp. The whirligig can be found past the bandit camp after the abandoned military equipment park where the loners hang out. They are up the trees just past the camp.
