Ok. So modders comunity figured out how to activate 3rd person view. Even trough activating such option in key binding trough Options menu. But i noticed that when in 3rd person your character does shooting in the same direction that you were facing in 1st person. No matter in what direction you turn when in 3rd. I like playing Stalker in 3rd person. And I think that a lot of others would. So did anyone think about fixing this "direction" problem? Also it would be great that when you press aiming button you would authomatically go to first peson to aim...after releasing aim button it would go back to 3rd. (Greets from russian community)
Someone on the forums found a way to use third person Resident Evil style. He added something to the command line parameter or whatever its called. Im not sure where it is, youll have to do some digging on the stalker forums. And greets from, uhh, our community! :D
Kerag sounds like you may be mistaking camera #3 for camera #2. F2 is used for 3rd person movement, F3 is only used for panning the camera around while stationary. The only thing that should remain the same as the last direction you were facing in 1st person while moving in 3rd person is the flashlight beam. These bindings added to the user.ltx.... bind cam_1 kF1 bind cam_2 kF2 bind cam_3 kF3 ....translate to F1 1st person, F2 3rd person, F3 360 degree camera view while stationary.
No im correct. 2nd camera view has not only flashlight beam problem but also shots and bolt throwing. The model of the stalker does correct facing...but everything else is like it was in 1st person view untill you went in to 3rd. and i allready have my buttons assigned exactly like you sayed.
yep, the tps cam view has issues with cars too...
Yeah throwing things doesn't work, but shooting is doable as long as you use crosshairs, so I disagree with you on that. I have made 3 videos in 3rd person, 1 of which has lots of shooting in it and I had no problem whatsoever. These are the typical problems you run into with 3rd person:
- You are too far away to use the knife
- The camera clips through nearby objects
- Cutscenes either won't show or look strange
- You can't use the binoculars, scopes or grenades
- It's very hard tp pick things up via using the action key
- Arms trail lifelessly behind you when running if not carrying anything
- Upper body remains stiff as a board while moving at normal speed with nothing in hands
I maintain that shooting is not among these problems and I have a video to prove it. You just have to make sure you have crosshairs enabled. About the only practical use you can get out of 3rd person is viewing around corners or above ladders (while on them) and objects. My latest use of it that was quite helpfull was lobbing a grenade over a rock at the guy in the road with the RPG at Red Forest. I could easily judge where to aim it by switching to 3rd person then back to 1st person.
