I'd like to know if there any way to copy/past some files from CS to SoC to have a better render. The big question is : can I pack new databases with modified files ?
And if it is possible I think we could create CS factions into SoC...
EDIT : I just think that maybe it's illegal to do this :)
Right now, I believe the best you can do is merge shaders and sound effects from CS to SHOC.. It won't be perfect, but it's better than nothing right now..
It should be possible to do a remake of SoC as a mod in CS, kind of like Valves remake of Half-Life in the source engine.
Ok I tried to copy textures and shaders folders but all I have is a lot of errors.
I believe you can use CS shaders in SoC, leaked shaders have already surfaced since the leaked E3 demo. Perhaps some textures, unfortunately the engine has changed therein lies the problem. So not everything from CS can be transfered into SoC and i think it will be a long long time before we see SoC in CS because apparantly no one wants to make mods for it and we still havent heard even a slightest rumor that we will get an SDK with this one.
TC, I didn't say copy, I said merge.. There is a big difference.. If the files aren't properly merged and commented on, of course your game is going to crash. I most definitely know the shaders can be merged, I've seen a few people using Clear Sky water shaders merged into sky4ce 2.0.
But the big question is: Is this legal??
If you own both of the games then yes it is. By own I of course mean that you need to have both of them bought.
