Pulled this game back off my shelf and have been trying to edit the traders starting items at the beginning of the game so i get more than just a knife and pistol. Items don't show up though. I haven't modified the items themselves, i've just added them to the start list. Here's a copy of my trade_trader file: [supplies_start] ;Àììóíèöèÿ ammo_5.45x39_fmj = 1, 0.1 wpn_sig550 = 1, 1 ammo_5.56x45_ap = 25, 1 exo_outfit = 1, 1 Don't care if the outfit is there or not really, i just wanted the gun in the starting and the ammo. What'd i do wrong? i can upload the full trade_trader file if needed.

Oh might help to know i'm just using Stalker: SoC and the newest 2009 patch, nothing else has been installed.

Iirc, Sidorovich doesn't give you anything. That (what I linked to) is what you have to edit. Either that, or what Wolf gives you (which is easy and should be around the forum some where).

no i don't want to change the starting items you get from wolf. Sorry if i wasn't clear enough. I want to add guns and ammo and armor suits to sid's inventory to buy at the start of the game. Luckily after enough tinkering and reading various posts i've been able to do that.

What i haven't been able to figure out yet is how to mod the armor to allow me to carry more than 50 lbs. Nothing extreme i was looking at 75 lbs or 100 lbs, after i fill up on bandaids and food and have my pistol and rifle and bullets for both i'm at 49.8 lol

I've tried using niphty's examples in his how-to thread but i can't seem to get it to add the extra weight. my inventory screen still shows 50 lbs max.

Hi,

In order to achive that, you have to modify two values to obtain what you want.

The first one is in this file: gamedata\config\creatures\actor.ltx

Look for "max_walk_weight".

That's the max value. If your inventory weight is superior to this value, you won't be able to move.

The 2nd value is in this file: gamedata\config\system.ltx

Look for "max_weight".

If your inventory weight crosses that treshold value, then your stamina will decrease at the speed of light if you try to run.

That should do the trick :cya:

sweet thanks :) that did it.

Now for my next question lol i've followed niphty's walkthrough and made a modified sig550. Now i get this error when i start the game:

Expression : fatal error Function : CInifile::Load File : D:\xray-svn\xrCore\Xr_ini.cpp Line : 236 Description : Arguments : Duplicate section 'wpn_sig550_hud' found.

what'd i do wrong?

Prior to making my own i was able to successfully mod the in-game sig. only problem was even with niphty's awesome armor mod i was getting 1 shot killed by NPC's using the sig 550 lol. So i changed the numbers back and tried making my own, and here i am with this error. When i made mine i coppied the modified 550 i did, and just changed the name and the damage it does. and here i am stuck with this error.

Edit: also i pasted my gun in the unique ltx file. should i have saved it as a weapon in the weapons folder instead?

That's quite obvious, you have the same thing twice!!

--> "Duplicate section 'wpn_sig550_hud' found"

In order to make your modified weapon, there is not much things to do actually.

Pick up the file i've uploaded and extract it. Also, files are just for example but if you just want damages increased, that will do.

NB: Files are just to show you explicitely the way, do not play with this files but rather copy form them the lines you need, and paste them into the "real ones", ok? I made them just to show you in a simple way how to do what you wanted. Files are hihly commented so i guess it won't much of a problem for you, but if it does, tell me.

Also, if that helps, every section with brackets [] must be unique in the .ltx files.

So, if you'd like to make a new SIG SG-550, that's probably how you will have to proceed:

Open the new file and look what i've done!

oh i see i think :) looks like i forgot to change my created gun's name in the [wpn_yada-yada_hud] I left it as the normal sig550, i'll change that and see what happens.

thanks for the tips :)

Yep!! that was it! thank you SacriPan :)

well good! lol cause now i messed something else up. When i first got the game i added my mods in no problem, now i'm having nothing but problems lol.

So i changed my gun, removed it from the unique_items.ltx and just made it a weapon.ltx file (w_sig550_m1). Then i coppied Niphty's armor into the unique ltx file like his example thread shows. added it and the gun to the trade_trader.ltx file, and Sod wouldn't talk to me at all. So i recoppied the original trader file back so he'd talk, and added the weapon and armor again, and now the game won't get past the synchronizing screen.

I'll stick the files here so maybe you can see what i screwed up.
