Sorry if this has been posted already, but for those who don't know, you can hand your fellow NPC's weapons.

1. First Equip the Weapon you want to give someone (hold it) 2. Walk up right In Front of an NPC and Aim the Weapon at him 3. Press the Inventory Button and "Drop" the weapon you are holding 4. The NPC will catch the weapon and throw away his other gun. Now you can give all the weak NPC's something they can actually defend themselves with. Note: Some NPC's will only accept weapons of the same ammo class.

Eg. If you Throw a GP37 at an NPC holding a Sawn Off Shotgun he will most likely Not Accept, however if you Throw a Spas-12 at him, he Will Accept the weapon. And make sure the gun you hand to an NPC is Loaded, don't worry about trying to hand them ammo, they seem to spawn their own out of nowhere.

Unfortunately you cannot hand NPC's Armor, Medkits or Artifacts

edit: I think everyone Accepts a Gauss Gun, haha

If you sell the NPC the ammo class of the gun you are about to give him, will he then take the weapon?

You cannot sell/trade ammunition with NPC's, therefore you cannot change their assigned ammo class.

A small change to the m_stalker.ltx allows the NPCs to use weapons other then the ones they come with, then changing the trade_generic.ltx to allow the purchase will allow ammo sales to stalker of choice. The method outlined above by Theaskingguy works 100% when these changes are made. Additionally, weapons can be handed to NPCs by walking up to them, turn completely away from them, and go into inventory and choose to drop an item. The NPC will catch it before it hits the ground. If you sold him a box of ammo before hand he will then have the normal NPC infinate ammo.

Dude that is awsome information. Can someone upload a link to a working Trade_Generic.ltx file? I can't understand them.

It's in Niphty's tutorial thread I think. FoxTwo may have been the one who posted it tho. Not sure. I know it was one of them who posted the instructions because that's where I learned it.

All you need to do is change this;

[stalker_trader]:stalker $spawn = "stalkers\stalker_trader" ; option for Level Editor use_single_item_rule = off can_select_items = off

to;
