Hello all.

I have been trying to modify a retail version of the original game patch 1.0005

I've managed it get the weight limit to 250 where i wanted it but cannot seem to modify starting money.

Have edited the escape.dialogue file using the files linked in the threads below but not sure what to do next?

shadow_state;4787407actually, I'm pretty sure that does nothing, Marked Ones starting amount is set in the all.spawn, I beileve. The easist way to do it, without editing the all.spawn is to edit the items that wold gives you for the 1st mission. To do this, open up scripts\escape_dialog.script and find this line code:function give_weapon_to_actor (trader, actor)then add in this line: dialogs.relocate_money(trader, 10000, "in")

I've edited that file and the line it relates to using an editor that i downloaded.

What do i do with the edited file?

Just save it. The game will see it as long as you haven't moved it from where it extracted to (gamedata\scripts).

And if you haven't already, open the file fsgame.ltx (in the stalker folder) and change this line:

$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

to this:

$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

And that's it. Load up the game, talk to Wolf and see if he gives you money along with the normal items.

Hello

I have done the fsgame.ltx already.

I had a mod already installed so had to extract the db files myself, i extracted them to a different folder though to save any problems are you saying i should just extract them to the core folder and edit it there?

will that overwrite my mods?

Did the mod you downloaded already have the 'escape_dialogs.script' file? If so, then just edit that one. If not, then place the one you extracted into gamedata\scripts and you'll be good to go.

If you're new to modding, remember to make regular backups, too. You may only be changing one file, but you know that if anything goes wrong, you'll always have something to go back to. It doesn't have to be the whole gamedata folder, just the folder you're working with.
