hi everyone, as above can anyone (faiakes, giv_em_hell, niphty etc.) clarify whether most mods available at the moment are compatible with patch 1.0003? i figure this'll be of help to everyone who appreciates your work and still want to use your mods. cheers guys.

i only have one mod installed and with new patch it works fine, saved games work fine.

X-46 Advanced Battlearmor (1.02)

its all i need (godlike armor and a one shot one kill 100 rnd AR, both nondegrading and gun never jams plus 210kg carrable)

I'm using the Reality Enhancement Beta 4.5 with hotfixes 1, 2, 3, and 4, with some of my own tweaks, and so far, nothing's gone wrong...

Yet.

Seems that the new patch changes a heap of stuff in gamedata.dbb ... after unpacking it seems like the whole bunch of script files, textures, creature files et al all got "changed".

So... I'm guessing SOME mods, such as SH's Detection mod, might be "affected"... as for how, I don't know yet... just got it installed... Weapon files and armour files don't seem to be affected at all though.

I have the detect mod, skins, and alot of unique weapons mods and havent had any problems. The only thing I came across was now when I die holding one of my modified weapons the game crashes to desktop and the log says something like "cant_find_rank" and dont remember that happening before patch. Other than that everything is good.

Trust me, the "Can't find rank" thing happened before the patch too. It just happened too randomly for me to track it down. It doesn't always happen so I don't know where to look to fix it.

And, as far as I can see, even the original weapon files don't have a "rank". Creature files do, though. I found it strange that the error message referred to my modded weapon at the time.

@FoxTwo: I tweaked the same files as SH's Detection mod, and there doesn't seem to be any changes (bad changes, I mean).

I'm thinking that the patch doesn't really fuxx over any mods.

@ FoxTwo I have narrowed it down to only modified weapons (unique) that are created by us cause the crash, saying that the in game originals do not cause the crash

@give_em_hell - yeah that's exactly my point. If the original weapon files do not have a "rank = xxx " thing, why should our modded weapons cause a crash? It makes no sense. In OOP paradigm, when we inherit objects, we take on ALL properties of the parent object. If the parent object doesn't have a "rank = xxx", our inherited object won't either. So why should the engine crash on ours and not on the originals?

@Final_Warrior - yeah I did a quick playtest without changing any of the mods I installed.. so far seems okay, ie no funny stuff happening. Wonder why old saves won't work with the new patch tho... something major must have changed enough to render old saves unplayable...
