Uh hello, first post here :) I've been playing STALKER on-off for a few weeks ago and I have been enjoying the time spent on it. But I must admit I'm a bit of a wuss  . What I would wish to do is edit the game files to the bloodsuckers lose the ability to cloak themselves. I figure there must be two ways of doing this. 1. Editing a few values for that NPC. 2. Editing the 'cloaked' texture file replacing it with the 'uncloaked' texture file. Does anyone think this is do-able? I have downloaded the the unpacker tool, but have no real idea what to do. so any pointers would be great. :)

should be doable probubly and easy script change just get an unpacker (i think you can download one on filefront) and search around for monster files or bloodsuckers and look for lines about clocking or going invisable good luck i like the chalege of the cloaking but other people probubly dont and will want your mod

But the million dollar question, which file is one that has all the data on the monsters

Bit of an update, I think I've locatied the file which would affect the bloodsuckers 'cloak'. But im quite sure what to edit.

;------------------------------------------------------------------------- ; Invisible Ability ;------------------------------------------------------------------------- Particle_Invisible = anomaly2\bloodsucker_shield Particles_Invisible_Tracks = monsters\bloodsucker_step Particles_Invisible_Tracks_Freq = 70;100 Invisibility_BlinkTime = 300 Invisibility_BlinkMicroInterval = 30 Invisibility_EnergySpeed = 0.05

This is the section of the config file that affects it (I think). Any ideas on what to edit and what numbers to change?

yep i would edit the "Invisibility_BlinkTime = 300" to = 0 and try that also might try the Invisibility_BlinkMicroInterval = 30 to =0 these are my best and most educated guesses if those dont work try higher numbers or somethign else but it should you mgiht want to try just deleteing the whole thing (if you screw you delete and just unpack ageain for a fresh one) hope that helps :)

OK I've edited according to you best guess. So all i need to do is place the config file into the 'gamedata' folder that all the other mods go into right?

yes if you already have other mods that use config then you want to take just the folder with monster data in it into config (this may already be in use to in which case you want to move just the files. hope i havent confused you if u want just put config into a zip folder with only the files you have dited and the folders and unzip into config. good luck
