So,

I gave clear skies a long play, patched and all, though I only made it to garbage. Unfortunately I over estimated my computer and have to play on static lighting to get 0 lag. So far I have enjoyed the game and after only getting into so late havent experienced the multitude of problems found by everyone else. So far I cant see what all the bitching is about, its just STALKER with a twist on game play. If you want the old STALKER experience just play the first STALKER! As for the direct X stuff, I'm running windows XP professional with an 8600GT 512DDR3 and havent experienced any problems at all, though I find the graphics demand to what the graphics deliver is a little unbalanced. I also think it ridicules you cant use functions like DOP on static lighting, why not!

Anyway, all the whinging about the game play has got to stop, its fun, its varied and its interesting, IMO. I really didn't find much different in the over all graphics quality either just to add, especially after having played with WO.

Now my last item of business is that they have removed certain classic areas from the game. Now from what I can gather the STALKER world is one big mesh, isnt it? Could there be any way modders could perhaps, reopen those areas? I think it could very well be option.

Anyway, thats all I really to wanted to say, safe stalking, and dont get to worked up its only an opinion.

Ez.

Nope, it isn't. In OL you can actually get to the borders of some maps and see where they end (because of increased jump height). Also you can use the flying camera to look beyond the fences.

Dezodor, who has made maps for SoC, said that including the old maps would be possible, but it would be a very long process (some month).

Hmmm... Doesn't sound that bad, could it be worth a try?

I also experienced my first crash and corrupt saved, it only happened after installing the sleeping bag mod...

After a bit of research I see how the meshes are laid out... But! I think porting would be impossible due to engine difference (e.g Scale, co-ord system, lighting etc.). So unfortunately even with THQ and deep Silvers permission its a no no...
