just wondering if there is a repacker for the game's data files. Used 'ex-unpacker' to exstract the folders to mode the game and now i need to repack the file (if this is necessary). thanks.

it isn't necessary to repack the files if you make modifications. You just need to create a /gamedata folder in your stalker directory and keep its directory structure the same as it shows up in your unpacked area. Then modify your gamedata.ltx file to have a line that reads:

$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

Let us know if you have issues!

Noname.jpg changed the fsgame file to direct it to go to the gamedata folder but after the splash screen pops up the game fails to start. Ive created a folder structure, nameing the folders as above as several files have the same name. The above files are the uncompressed game files in the gamedata folder. Not sure of what to do.

Is that screenshot of whats in the gamedata folder or just the entire STALKER folder? In any it doesnt look right All you have to do is change that certain line( which you did i guess) and then make a gamedata folder ( in the STALKER directory) where you place the modded files with their original path.

Ok mate what you need to do is take all the files out of the gamedata.db* folders you've created and put them all into the same folder which is called gamedata which you already have there! Any questions?

the bottom pic. is the stalker game folder with all its files. You can see a folder called gamedata which contains all the db files exstracted. the above pic. is (at the moment) is how i have arranged all the exstracted files (just to keep them tidy and to know which files relate to which db main file. At present the orginal files are being bypassed but the program is not reading the uncompressed files.

Okay here's what my stalker gamedata directory looks like...

The other ones are default.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. --Gamedata -----ai -----anims -----config -----levels -----meshes -----scripts -----shaders -----sounds -----spawns -----textures

Then inside of those are all the default subdirectories.. Inside textures, for example is

--act --icon --item --pfx --prop --sleep --ui --wm --wpn et cetera...

I hope this helps. If it's unclear, I will take a screenshot of the directory tree for you a little later.
