Hey guys! im working on making a custom suit, bascially the exoskeleton highs + eco suit highs in a stealthier looking suit. i dont figure thats cheating =P, just removing annoying suit swaps when i find radiation or an anamoly.

anyway im wondering if anyone can give me a link or explain to me how to use the model of the expert bandit (the one with the hood and cloak type thing)

i know how to edit the stats in uniwue weapons, i just need to figure out a way to get the suit itself on my guy, i know you can because of this mod Ghillie Suit SVD, Stalker Downloads, Stalker Male

but im not big on camo.

and if anyone can tell me how to get into third person view that would be equally appreciated.

/end nub

OK well i went into unique items and edited this

[outfit_bandit_m1]:bandit_outfit ;Óïëîòíåííûé áàíäèòñêèé êîñòþì $spawn = "outfit\uniq\outfit_bandit_m1" inv_name = bandit_outfit_name_m inv_name_short = bandit_outfit_name_m description = bandit_outfit_description_m bones_koeff_protection = plasch_antigas_damage fire_wound_protection = 0.28 inv_grid_x = 14 inv_grid_y = 21 ; TODO Óìåíüøèòü èçíîñ

into this

[outfit_bandit_m1]:bandit_outfit ;Óïëîòíåííûé áàíäèòñêèé êîñòþì $spawn = "outfit\uniq\outfit_bandit_m1" inv_name = bandit_outfit_name_m inv_name_short = bandit_outfit_name_m description = bandit_outfit_description_m bones_koeff_protection = plasch_antigas_damage visual = equipments\bandit_suit actor_visual = actors\bandit\stalker_bandit_master.ogf fire_wound_protection = 0.28 inv_grid_x = 14 inv_grid_y = 21 ; TODO Óìåíüøèòü èçíîñ

I added

visual = equipments\bandit_suit actor_visual = actors\bandit\stalker_bandit_master.ogf

---------------------

when i open my game it crashes. what im trying to do is edit a unique suit to simply change the way it looks and the properties it gives. ive figured out for the most part how to edit the stats, but i can figure out who to successfully make it look the way i want.

can you help me any further with this? ive tried a lot of things are im getting discoraged =(

visual and actor_visual should be the same. I guess actors\bandit\stalker_bandit_master is the best guess. Also you have to remove the .ogf.

If you can't even get into the main menu, you have screwed something up badly. Maybe you can restore the original file and try to edit that again?

Otherwise: Do you get a crash log / bug trap window?

yeah i get the crash log, but whenever i undo my change it goes back to working perfectly. all im doing is adding

actor_visual = actors\bandit\stalker_bandit_veteran.ogf

to unique items.ltx

i add it to the ghost suit to try and make it look like a bandits suit basically. all im trying to do is change the appearance

yeah i did, i accidentally repasted it in the thread. when i removed .ogf it still crashed.

im wondering if can change the appearance of the unique item by simply adding that line in the unique_item.ltx file? or does it require something else.

Sorry, I just noticed that in outfit.ltx the actor_visual s are linked with .ogf.

Anyway, I have no clue why it wouldn't work. You only have to add the actor_visual line where the suit is described. That would be in unique_items.ltx or in any other ltx where you put the suit. It doesn't really matter where, but unique_items is a good place.

Can you post the FATAL ERROR section of the crash log? Maybe it gives an additional hint.

Also one thing that might be important here: LTX files allow spaces in variable names. If you used spaces behind actor_visual, you should delete them and use tabs instead. It's a very low chance that this is the reason though. Just wanted to mention because I once had a very strange behaviour with trader files and spaces seemed to be the cause.
