Wouldn't it be neat if one of you kickass modders out there made an item that you could find at, say, the best ending in SHOC, for use in freeplay mode (with compatible mods, of course), that would be some sort of "psionic device" which would allow you to take some monsters with you as friendly companions? Monsters I'd want to control would be:

1. Bloodsuckers -- and possibly a gang of them if I can find enough and keep them alive :)

2. Blind dogs -- it'd be awesome to control a whole pack of them; think about the havoc you'd raise if you took a huge mob of them to the village in Cordon :)

3. Rats -- well, a lot like the blind dogs, I guess

I don't know if they should be allowed to attack everyone else normally, or only your enemies. I guess only your enemies, but if you had them attack just anyone then it would be a good penalty for using them in the first place.

I really hope Kanyhalos or one of the other modders working on OL sees this :)

Nothing is impossible but this goes beyond the realm of "simple" scripting and more into advance lua scripting. There are things you can theoretically piggyback on but again its ALOT of work and most likely no one will ever do it.

Well, how about just bloodsuckers? That way only one individual type would have to be dealt with. They already appear to have friendly/enemy properties, as sometimes after I kill them and search their bodies they are labeled as friendly. How far off are they from being turned into a "faction" and then making it possible to "join" their faction? Then give them the follow/stay/leave commands? And if all that is accomplished, could they then be used as companions?

Yeah.. would be nice to join the Bloodsucker-faction. They should have traders too!!!! and get missions of them too!!! how nice! And that psionic device would be ... what the hell? Maybe there should be a rat-faction... with missions like... get us some CHEESE!!!!!

This has already been discussed and someone even mentioned there were vids on the net of someone doing just that. Spawning a friendly bloodsucker that followed him around but ive never found/seen that video. Not to mention that everyone else will still be hostile to them unless you spawn it as a different community.

Lastly i think getting them to talk would be... hmm... difficult?
