The load times are longer because you have the entire DB extracted and the system checks file by file for what you have and what it can use in the DB. Simply remove the majority of the things you aren't using (or move them to another directory so the game can't see them) and you'll reduce load time. It has to use a lot of resources for windows to open tons of little files, as opposed to one big file. That's why most games are packed into a database :)
You do still need to correct your gun like I referred to before.
[wpn_lg_svd_m2] $spawn = "weapons\svd"
needs to be
[wpn_lg_svd_m2]:wpn_svd $spawn = "weapons\svd"
That alone will cause the client to crash, since the item doesn't have all the properties it should.
I did that, actually.
Honestly, I think the problem is that I screwed up my trade_barman.ltx file...Can someone post the unedited one, or one with what I requested before? I'd appreciate it. (My backup trade_barman.ltx got messed up).
Attached as a .txt. The file is a dirty hack, but if you remove all the stuff under ;stuff then you'll have a normal barman file. That way you can use this as a backup.
This dirty hack goes to show that the file reads top to bottom, so by placing things at the bottom of a section, you can overwrite anything in that section.. i.e. No trade item overwritten, like the ammo does in the sell portions of that file.
Like I said, it's not sorted out 'neatly' but it works for me.
Thank you so much man, I'm going to go try it right now.
I really appricate this, thanks for helping me.
By the by, do you just use plain notepad to edit these files?
Yeah, I'm old school.. I just added ltx into the notepad "text documents" entry, so notepad will read em. Windows still won't sub-string search them, pretty annoying. I use another search program to try to find string references in the scripts and such.
Ok...Must not be that...It still crashed...
I'm wondering if this is a Vista issue or something...
[wpn_lg_svd_m2]:wpn_svd $spawn = "weapons\svd" description = enc_weapons1_wpn_lg_svd_m2 inv_name = wpn_lg_svd_m2 inv_name_short = wpn_lg_svd_m2 cost = 25 fire_modes = 1 ammo_limit = 2000 ammo_current = 1000 ammo_class = ammo_7.62x54_7h1, ammo_7.62x54_7h14, ammo_7.62x54_ap sprint_allowed = true misfire_probability = 0.0 condition_shot_dec = 0.0 hit_power = 10.10, 10.10, 10.10, 16.60 hit_impulse = 6000 fire_distance = 2000 bullet_speed = 150000 rpm = 1600 scope_zoom_factor = 20 ammo_mag_size = 1000 inv_grid_x = 5 inv_grid_y = 23 scope_status = 1 fire_dispersion_base = 0.005 control_inertion_factor = 1.0f cam_relax_speed = 0.65 cam_dispersion = 0.002 cam_dispersion_inc = 0.0005 cam_dispertion_frac = 0.004 cam_max_angle = 0.06 cam_max_angle_horz = 0.09 cam_step_angle_horz = 0.005 misfire_probability = 0.0
Did I set the values too high?
If my gauss gun worked, then it should work fine, since it looks like the values are from that =D
I can say you have misfire_probability in there twice, not that that causes a fatal error. Did you also remove the silencer? I'm still using the version with it on :P
What you should to is attach your log file in the STALKER_SHOC/logs directory of shared documents. Rename it to .txt and upload it here so I can look through it. =D Or take a quick look yourself to see if you can figure out what's going on.
Also, where/when is it crashing?
Ok, it looks like it was a save issue. Thanks, the guns and everything is fixed. I just had to use an earlier trade.
Time to test them out! :D
