Im working on a skin for the lr300 (m4 looking gun) but i have no idea how to do a camoflauge fill. Help is apreciated.
Well, there are two ways to start it, one is by downloading a plug-in for photoshop, that allows you to pick the color(s) of your camo, and it'll output a camouflage texture automatically, though it's not like regular camo the pattern is quite different .
The other is to find a camouflage pattern on say yahoo/google image search and turn it into a seamless tiled texture that will fit over the size of the weapon texture, this way is a bit more difficult but yields more realistic looking camouflage. Either way you'll have to mess with the settings of the layer they're on to get it to look right once you're done.

Basically im trying to make a tile of camoflauge fit a peice. Should i use the Craft knife tool?
So are you saying that you're trying to make a smaller camo texture fit the weapons texture size, or are you saying that you already have a large enough camo texture, and you're just trying to get it onto the weapon texture?
What kind of camoflage do you want exactly... I mean, what type of pattern? I would be happy to just make a tileable texture for you and then post it. You could then just cut and paste to a new document in Photoshop and there you have it to save as a pattern or use as an overlay, &tc and rescale it as you see fit.
OR... (and much less work-intensive on my own part)... you could take what you already have and apply it to your image by adding it as a layer- use overlay or soft light, and adjust the fill/opacity to about 70-80%. Then just erase the sections you don't want to use and recompile the image back into .DDS format. No prob.
Its fine guys, i decided not to make ANOTHER Camo weapon because there are already like 4 skin packs of camo/woodgrain out already. Thanks anyways:)
