Question, is there an easy way to remove the ALife, npcs, anomalys, weather effects, etc, without breaking the game but allowing me to run around and view textures in game so I don't have to load all the extra dialougue and such that will just bog down my machine?
Either that or a test map build like you see in the early alpha-development videos where they can spawn and test whatever they're working on?
Why would you want empty maps?
Is it a freeplay mod you're looking for? Or a mod to make the game run smoother?
Sorry but I don't get it. Would you mind enlighten me?
Sort of like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sz3G_aSBkso
What I'm looking for is a map/mod for when I just need to pop in real quick and see how the textures line up on the models. Hopefully something compatible with a spawn menu or modified to allow me to spawn items/creatures/vehicles/etc from the ~ command prompt.
I've gotten rather tired of having to wait twenty minutes while it loads up all the weather effects and character models/sound-bytes simply because I have a project file opened up in Photoshop in the background.
Also, how do I enable the free(spectator)-cam in single-player?
So it's a sort of test map that loads fast. Now I get it.
Honestly, the first level without mod is pretty short to load (45s on my rig, from the moment I click on the shortcut of the game, to the moment I'm able to move in the game). RAM consumption isn't so big for a vanilla time. You'd better look for optimising photoshop (don't know if it's possible) rather than the game.
However, I have a map with nothing in it, just trees, that loads in 9s only (on my rig, from the click on the shortcut, to in-game). Download it and extract it (I uploaded it just for you): Map Dark Forest In SoC.7z ? RGhost ? file sharing and then use this mod: http://stalker.filefront.com/file/Atlas_Spawn_Menu_Mod;96202 to spawn ammo, weapons in your inventory and creatures around you.
I didn't check the RAM consumption on this one but I guess the loading time should satisfy you.
For the different view, find the file "user.ltx", in your personnal documents folder, on your "C:" drive. (c:\Documents and settings\all users\STALKER-SHOC\) for XP (C:\Users\Public\Documents\STALKER-SHOC\) on 7 Edit it and add those lines (loading the game should re-order those lines): bind cam_1 kF1 bind cam_2 kF2 bind cam_3 kF3
When in -game press F1, F2, or F3 to toggle between views.
For the Atlas spawn MOD, press Esc, and then F2, F3 or F4 and then, well, it's obvious when you got it in front of you.
I hope this is what you were looking for.
See you in the Zone :cya:,
Hmm, it won't let me download the map.
Oups! It was in private mod, sorry.
