Hey guys, this is my first post on this fourm~ :) (Woot) But that's offtopic.

I'd like to ask if there are any mods, or anyway I could mod it myself, as to turn off the reputation system. I've had to restart many times because everyone decides to kill me, :mad: after I finish a few missions. My reputation will always end up Terrible, even though I've avoided missions that seem bad. I'd really enjoy to just PLAY without getting attacked in every single place I decide to go.

Anyone know how to turn off Rep or change it? In a simple sum up.

P.S I'm talking about the Rep that is, Neutral, Very Bad, Terrible, Good, etc.

Are you using Oblivion Lost by chance? It has a reputation bug in its current version and there is a fix for it.

I'm going to ask Kanyhalos, the author, if the reputation bug is also in vanilla Stalker and could be fixed there. Which version number do you have?

About disabling the rep, I don't know. I think it's not possible or a lot of work, to remove the changes from the whole game. But you could cheat the reputation by adding a script line that repairs your reputation whenever you load or something.

The script line might be

db.actor:change_character_reputation(1000)

1000 should make it "excellent". Something lower "very good" etc. You could put it into \gamedata\scripts\bind_stalker.script into the function actor_binder:net_spawn(data)

Kanyhalos told me how the bug got fixed. It is actually a vanilla bug, so not related to OL.

Open \gamedata\scripts\task_manager.script and change this

if task_desc.reward_reputation ~= nil then db.actor:change_character_reputation(db.actor:character_reputation() + task_desc.reward_reputation) end

to this

if task_desc.reward_reputation ~= nil then db.actor:change_character_reputation(task_desc.reward_reputation) end

It will fix the reputation bug, but will not fix any bad reputation, you already earned.

Well, at the time it happened I was using Faiakes 2.4 with patch and with sound. Also a stand alone horror mod, but removed the fog of it all, I've no idea how I did that. *Lol!* I think I used the default weather settings? No idea. I still managed to keep the dead trees and stuff. :confused:

But I had been playing up to the bit where I get to lab X18, as soon as I got out back to Cordon everyone was mauling me. (Though I do say that I became quite the pro battling through the streets. =p) But it was game ruining.

I am now trying the New Inferno mod, by RSpeed, I believe. When I added it all in, it worked fine, on it's own~ But I tried adding another other mod that changed the weapon sound files, and one that removed the fog, the way I knew how, by overwriting. Lol.

I went into the actual file in weather and changed the Fog Distance all to 380 (Seems default?) <--- Haven't tried that yet.

I did try when I added the sound and edited the weather, it'd start fine and all, until it would get to the point where the Trader guy goes... ''So, I saved your life, so you're gonna do some favours for me, and don't think I did it to win fa-- (Lag. Cuts out. Bugtrap comes up)

To some it up... I was using Faiakes mod 2.4(with patch and sound) with Horror Mod Alpha(0.4) I finished the Lab x18 and when I left, everyone in the LONER group would attack me. Because my rep was 'Terrible' but I hadn't done much wrong.

Hopefully that was much easier to understand. :rofl:

Hey again. Thanks very much to Atrocious. Kudos my friend. ^_^ I tried the things you posted, even though they didn't work, I am greatful you did attempt to help. (It crashed my game when I added in any of the codes. :( ) I've decided to try Oblivion Lost 2.0 though, it's very good. But I don't like the sounds, so I'm attempting to merge sounds from Faiakes, it works well with it, no crashing (Used WinMerge) although, now everyone talks in Russian, no English anywhere (Text is still English though *Phew*) Anyone got the files for English sounds? I'd really appriciate it~ :D Thanks everyone esp to Atrocious. -Zeharena

Good choice!

You could simply delete the Russian voice sounds and it would take the English sounds from your original game instead.

I think all sounds you need to change are in gamedata\sounds\characters_voice\scenario They are separated for levels in there and you can listen to them with Winamp or something, to make sure it's the right file to delete.

Did you remove that? It should be db.actor:change_character_reputation(task_desc.reward_reputation)

I did, but I just became co-author of OL some weeks ago and the sounds are not really my business. Also I think you will like the rifle sounds. It was my first impression too: I didn't like the pistol sounds, but once I got a rifle (which was pretty fast) I was satisfied with the sounds.
