Back from the dead...

(Does this mean 'un'-dead?)

Its true, I tell you. The French are certainly out to get you, Sab. Me too I fear, for they must have been the masterminds behind that power surge that knocked out my rig last week. It had "Vive le Revolucion!" written all over it.... And the cannonball that flew through my living room window? Definitely a French warning shot.

(For that matter... There were these "things" that came with my burger the other day. I distinctly recall the server referring to them as 'French' fries. Hmm...)

Anyhow. For all practical purposes, the .443 semi-automatic rifle is complete and I shall be looking towards the next piece of hardware to add to the arsenal. I suppose it couldn't hurt to start working on some of the character concepts as well, if so desired. Until the next major installment I shall be devoting most of my time to the incorporation of the completely new meshes into the STALKER game, in the interest of getting some more good eye-candy for display.

Sorry about the week-long sabbatical tho. Had to build up a whole new rig, and am still trying to smooth out the transition a little.

Ever hear the sound that a rattlesnake makes? You know... like Nature's merciful way of giving you a chance to back off peacefully
I thought it was to make it easier to target. :)
The focus is 110% storyline. We're not trying to make a bunch of Fallout-esque weapons and throw them into S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Why Bother adding new weapon graphics at all then? If the story is everything surely it can be told with the existing guns. If you're going to bother making a total conversion then detail is everything.

*ouch*

I have been officially corrected regarding my 'orrible French. Duly noted, tampoux. :)

[Edit: previous post should be Frenchified to read "Vive la Révolution"]

On a lighter note, just to get back into the swing of things I thought I would play with the new .416 rifle a little. The picture below would strongly suggest the real reason why Fox is in such a hurry to get you out of his little camp... He was obviously waiting for some 'courier' to bring him his new gun.

Spoiler: Show

Looks like someone got a little too close to the wish-granter...

AND THE FEMALE? Why does the project lead find these things out this way instead of being told DIRECTLY?

Wait....is that photoshopped in?

Man, what did I miss? I've been gone for less than 2 weeks and there's all of this? Jesus. Damn French. Better start the Freedom Fries up again! Made with 100% pure FREEDOM! I'm now in a crisis where I want to quit football to make free time, yet I know next year when the season actually starts, I'll probably regret it. All of this required early off-season training is rediculous, I think. If I do quit, I'll hopefully have some time for this mod, and I'll do whatever I can to help its progress. Sab, you need to fill me in next time when we get on MSN. And we now have confirmation of French Fallout-esque mod for STALKER. Its called Stalkout, and they JUST started translating their news into English, so everything else is still French. They have posted a few screenshots of content, and the guns look like toys to me. The other stuff is just random clutter, like Magazines (with Catwoman?), a rusty Plunger (with a stretched Texture), and finally a gameboy thing (with Pipboy). I'm not sure how much they really have done, I'm gunna look into it a bit more.

@Sab -

Of course it Photoshopp'd, good sir. If I was even thinking about actually integrating that chik into the game, you know I would have told you first. ;)

(And of course, this mythical .416 rifle is completely a figment of your imagination as well. As Waldo was quick to observe, it has not yet been fitted with its barrel compensator yet... And thusly is not fully qualified to be officially integrated into the engine just yet.

*Waves fingers in a mystical 'Kenobi' fashion*

You saw no woman with gun in the picture. There was only Fox sitting alone by the fire. There was no girl. It was a Photoshop manipulation...)

giv_em_hell;3694663Ñàéò > link for OGFViewer v1.0.4 takes a little set up nothig hard but when you open a .ogf to view you can save it as a .obj. If anyone finds out anything about converting it back, let me know please. I have a couple models to put in game the m-134, m-249, pkm, p90, and a few more, but I cant convert back to .ogf format so Im stuck right now.

Did you get the code put together for them? The .ltx files? I would love to get the m134 and p90 working. I don't think the .ltx for the p90 would be that difficult but the m134 .ltx files look tough.

Has anyone else been able to get the OGF viewer working? I'm not having any luck getting it to open itself, much less an ogf.

I have the OGF viewer working. OGF files are currently "unknown" files, for the lack of a better word. As far as I've researched and heard, all we can do is open the OGF using the viewer, save it as an .OBJ, and edit it. But thats it, no way to change it back to an .OGF file. Damn weird German file types...
