Hi there, was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to Strip the Corpses of their Armour, so that you could either keep it or sell it to the trader or NPC's. This is something you can do in Oblivion TESV1. Is it possible in, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:)

Not that I have ever heard. If you went into the character description files you could give each one a suit of armor to match their character texture, which you would then be able to loot, but other than that I dont think the game really thinks of them as wearing armor, they just have a representation in numbers of what there armor would give them. Besides, once you got to army warehouses you would be looting an insane amount of exo-suits.
Plus you have to figure that in a radiation environment, the guys are all probably peeing in their suits......yuck.

When i look at the guys in the code, there isnt a referance to a suit of armor, just a texture that determines whether they look like a bandit or a merc etc....and a list of resistances and immunities.....If I recall correctly, please tell us if anyone knows differently, I have not really looked into it farther than changing their weapons.
Your correct rkteckt... The character files just point to an actor mesh, which itself calls on a texture. So, the newbie guys are not actually wearing armor on top of anything else, there is no base "body" underneath like in Oblivion. The NPC is built in the shape of that armor. You would have to edit the character_desc files and manually give each the armor, then add the armors to "keep_items" in misc/death_generic. However this would not be perfect as, the armor would be in top condition no matter how many bullets you riddled that Bandit with, and... When you looted the corpse, and took the armor, the corpse visual would still be the same, so would not look very real. Also you would have to alter the game so traders paid you a very low price for armor, or you could be rich without the Monolith!!
You just shot that so called armor full of holes, and now it's probably full of blood. If you're looking for the realism factor to explain the lack of suit looting, there you go.

If you were to think about stipping a dead body to get the armour off it ought to take quite a lot of time. During which you'd probably get ambushed. Best that it's just the way it is.
lets try to remember that we are discussing realism in a game where you can survive an infinite number of bullets if you are fast enough with the bandage button....and where you can eat a can of food in half a second and search a corpses pockets while on the run....while simultaneously reorganizing your scavanged bullets into fully loaded clips.......
Wouldnt it suck if you had like 3 clips and had to spend time loading the rounds into them?
I often wonder if the reason the economies of some middle eastern countries are so poor is the amount of time all the women and children have to spend loading ak-47 clips instead of working......because obviously the women have to do all the work because the men are too busy shooting the AK's
