first you need 3 programs 1 fraps to make pictures you can download it here Domain Maintenance

2 irfanview and the plugins to resize and and change format you can download it here Domain Maintenance

3 the stalker database extractor you can download it here S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Database Extractor, Stalker Downloads, Stalker Miscellaneous

so if you have the 3 programs you need a something to make a tv clip from start fraps and go to the tab screenshots and activate : Repeat screen capure every XX seconds . im using repeat all 2 seconds but you have to look for yourself .

now minimize fraps and start your video player start the video you waht to make as as clip and pres the buton to make screenshots fraps will now start to make screenshots automaticly every XX seconds . after you made a the screenshots you wahnt you can close the video player and open the folder with the screenshots .

now comes the very boring part , you use irfanview change the format and the size of the screenshots to 256x256 format TGA . after you done that you have to change tha name and the format to dds in the windows explorer the name has to be fx_stalker_001.dds to fx_stalker_030.dds you have to do that with all the pictures.

normay you can just use 30 pictures but with the database extractor you can get your hands an thes 2 fiels 1 the textures.ltx 2 the fx_stalker.seq they are both in database05.db

first open the textures.ltx and search for this line fx\fx_stalker_001 = bump_mode[none], material[2.00]

and extend the numbers normaly ther are the lines from fx\fx_stalker_001 = bump_mode[none], material[2.00] to fx\fx_stalker_030 = bump_mode[none], material[2.00]

you have to extend it to the number of pictures you wahnt after that you search the line fx\fx_stalker_001 = 0 and make the same thing as above .

now open the fx_stalker.seq and make the same thing again

now save the pictures and the fx_stalker.seq under S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl\Gamedata\textures\fx and the textures.ltx under S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl\Gamedata\textures ** If you DO NOT have a "gamedata" folder in the main Stalker Directory ** : Make sure to change the second line of the file fsgame.ltx From this : $game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\ To this : $game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

it should work now

if you have any tips please post

Just a note: Might save someone a lot of work. I accomplished making the list longer than 30 {60} by using only the fx_stalker.seq file. This could be because I didn't copy the entire textures folder over to my gamedata folder. I only copied what was neccesary. The fx folder. I didn't mess with the textures.ltx file at all and it still shows all 60 slides. Got lucky on that one cause if I had known about the textures.ltx I would've changed it too without even testing.

I use about 1 second between shots. That's why I got 60 of them. It didn't look right using longer intervals to me either. I would've done more than that but it's a real time consuming job as you know. No telling how many you could do before it became too taxing on your system. How about a whole movie? That would take a while. hehe

Anyone know how to slowdown the framerate on TV? I posted another thread before I saw this one asking same question. Rather than a video clip, I want to make a "most wanted" slideshow... figure the barman may be advertising his "jobs".

Answering my own question... in case anyone looks at this!!

There is an fx_stalker.seq file in the same texture folder (fx). the first line was a 5, and changing it to 1 slows the refresh right down. Guessing it is frames per second
