What are the names of all of the factors that affect accuracy? the base dispersion setting seems to be dulled by something that changes from weapon to weapon. Besides this, what factors control handling and recoil?

All help is appreciated.

Yes, I have checked the basic modding sticky. That's where I got base dispersion from, but when I set base dispersion to 1.2 on the L85, it is less accurate than the sig 550, which has a base dispersion of 1.4.

The displayed accuracy doesn't reflect overall weapon accuracy, accuracy is effected by other things including, bizarrely enough, rate of fire. The rounds you send down range when you have that L85 in zoom mode will be more accurate then a Sig 550 in the same situation.

Another example is the desert eagle, which ingame displays as having no accuracy, but is actually a fairly accurate weapon, the recoil (I assume) screws up the accuracy for the game though.

Thanks, starke.

still, what value in the .ltx files defines recoil and handling?

Aussie_sniper;4406657Thanks, starke.

still, what value in the .ltx files defines recoil and handling?

Its this buncha crap below..... Setting most of them to .001 seems to work, but the cam relax speed I havent messed with yet, might be how long it takes your gun to recenter after firing....

I used to have a really cheating groza that had zero felt recoil and zero dispersion, but I cant find the string for it and I dont remember exactly how to do it.....the rapid fire gauss rifle from the sticky on modding would probably be a close bet for zero barrell defelction in any case....I have not looked into it that closley.

;úCäà÷à cam_relax_speed = 4.5 ;0.3 ;ñêúAúBòü âîçâðàòà EèñõîäíüD EEæåûGE cam_dispersion = 0.3 ;óâåëè÷åíE óãE (Eãðàäóñàõ) EEæäûì âûñòðåEE cam_dispersion_inc = 0.20;0.15 ;óâåëè÷åíèe cam_dispersion EEæäûì âûñòðåEE cam_dispertion_frac = 0.9 ;ñòâîEáóäåEEäûEòüE úü cam_dispersion*cam_dispertion_frac +- cam_dispersion*(1-cam_dispertion_frac) cam_max_angle = 4.0 ;EEèìàëEûé óãüJ úCäà÷è cam_max_angle_horz = 4.0 ;(degree) maximum shot horizontal degree cam_step_angle_horz = 0.5 ;(degree) size of step camera moved in horizontal position while shooting

Here is a pretty close to no recoil version, though it still has some barrel rise during full auto if i recall:

dispersion_start = 2 fire_dispersion_base = 0.01;0.01 control_inertion_factor = 1.05f cam_relax_speed = 6; 0.15 cam_dispersion = 0.15 cam_dispersion_inc = 0.05 cam_dispertion_frac = 0.5 cam_max_angle = 7 cam_max_angle_horz = 5.0 cam_step_angle_horz = 0.5;0.4 fire_dispersion_condition_factor = 5

As I recall from the redux thread cam_relax_speed doesn't do exactly what it says, and there's an issue with the AI not being able to handle high recoil. (This might be why you never see an AI unit with a desert eagle in the game by default)

Basically relax speed or cam dispersion factor or something actually controls the AI's ability to re aim after firing a burst with a weapon, if it's too high, the gun will climb insanely for you, but the AI literally can't aim back down when using it.

Hi there.

I also has dispersion editing problem! I tried a loads of combinations and that did not solve my problem witch is: Is it possible to make weapon dispersion NOT! reduced while aiming? I created a buck shot of 200 projectiles and its little stupid that when i fire from distance of 50m i have 3m dispersion but when i aim it reduces to less than half meter.

PS: sorry for interrupting!

Hi,

I didn't try it but look in gamedata\config\creatures\actor.ltx, and try to play with those values:

disp_base = 0.8 disp_aim = 0.04 disp_vel_factor = 2.0 disp_accel_factor = 2.0 disp_crouch_factor = -0.2 disp_crouch_no_acc_factor = -0.4 ;disp_jump_factor = 2.0

Yup that worked!

but in this way it goes for all weapons, however there is some thing stupid that iv encountered

in weapon.ltx parameters there are two that should be connected with those in actor.ltx

actor.ltx <> weapon.ltx disp_crouch_factor <> PDM_crouch disp_crouch_no_acc_factor <> PDM_crouch_no_acc

but trey are not ad least for shadow of Chernobyl i will check that on Clear Sky and Call Of Pripyat tomorrow, because now i had enough

PS: small explain for new comers

disp_base (the main weapon dispersion) disp_aim (dispersion mod while aiming weapon) disp_vel_factor disp_accel_factor (dispersion nod while mowing) disp_crouch_factor (dispersion while crouching | its corresponding to first crouch stage the second one is automatically reduced by half) disp_crouch_no_acc_factor (crouch dispersion no acceleration mod) disp_jump_factor (dispersion while jumping | default disabled i dont think th)
