I'm new to the forums, and I wanted to know what mods were best for Shadow of Chernobyl.

I already know about the OL2.2/Arsenal mod and Stalker Complete, but I don't want to settle on anything until I get some good, honest opinions from seasoned modders.

Also, on a sidenote, I've once heard of a mod that combined a bunch of other mods (including OL2.2, if memory serves...of course, it's been awhile.), but I can't remember to save my life. If anyone knows of that mod, please tell me.

Thanking you in advance.

That would depend on what you are interested in. Do you just want general bug fixes? Do you want an enhancement to the original game, without straying too far from the 'Vanilla' gameplay? Do you want a mod with wild and chaotic gameplay? Or do you want a mod with a new storyline?

Not sure if this is the one you're thinking of, but its one I'm using right now and its pretty fantastic.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Oblivion Lost 2009 RC1 Download, Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl

I take out a few of the modifications in it, like Clothes Do Make the Man and the springtime foliage (and I edit the weapon files a bit), but its still a pretty great mod. This mod isn't really the best for graphics but its got a BUTTLOAD of guns which is the main draw for me. LURK 1.1 is being worked on right now and its pretty hard to beat the gameplay of the current version of LURK. Also the graphics are just as good as Stalker Complete or Complete Clear Sky. It adds quite a few weapons but not as many as OL 2009. Also there aren't any blowouts, which is fine with me really. Actually being able to sneak through bushes and in shadows -without- being seen is pretty awesome, and adds a whole new element to Stalker. I never even used the knife that much until I tried LURK. There's a few other changes that LURK makes that I'm not crazy about, but its nothing major. Til 1.1 comes out I'll be using OL 2009. Oh yeah and I still have to try Priboi Story.

Game enhancement, bug fixes, extended story line with several different branches and sub-quests, and new stuff (guns, armor, food, ammo, medical items, creatures, factions, anomalies, artifacts, melee weapons, characters, side missions, etc.)

Basically, anything that expands the game world; new gear is a plus too, as are new enemies, allies, and hazards.
