Hey all, I've had S.T.A.L.K.E.R. since around may and I've played through it a couple times, both with and without mods. However, I uninstalled a while ago and now (after several reinstall attempts) the game crashes gives me some "XR_3DA caused Breakpoint" error. I've run a bunch of searches and I can't find a solution. As far as my machine goes, there should be no problem, as I've previously run the game with mods at the highest possible specs with no problems. I've got a Gateway 835gm Duo Core with an nVidia 7950 (i think) and 3 gigs of RAM. Plus I've got the game installed on a separate hard drive. So again, I don't think my system specs are a problem, though I could be wrong. Anyway here's the error log from that STALKER-SHOC folder:

Also, I managed to trace it to a single file that was causing the game to crash in one mod (though I didn't have time to test it with any other mods. The file name was "m_stalker" and when it was removed all characters outside of that bomb shelter where the game begins were gone. Very omega man like. Anyway, if anyone could help I'd appreciate it very much since I've been killing myself trying all these solutions that have done nothing.

Hi..

- uninstall the game and manual-delete the folder, all of it.. - mission : destroy the Stalker-shoc folder in Shared_documents (reward : peace of mind). You may want to back it up before proceeding.. - install the game again, with a new folder name (K:\Stalker is fine) - try the game : it should work as is.. - install 1.0003 patch and your mods (1.0003 version) and try the game again : it should work..

If you want to install 1.0004 patch, I recommend deleting _ALL_ mods and checking for each one if it works with this patch. Download the new version if needed..

Isn't my answer clear enough, to check for all mods if it works/runs with 1.0004 patch ?.. :confused:

If mod* is meant to run with 1.0003 and no new version is available, then I think people are smart enough to know what to do : stick with 1.0003 patch and wait for next version..

EDIT : mod instead of patch.. me fool/tired.. :)

So you mean like 1.0005? I heard GSC wasn't doing it, only working on the expansion pack Clear Skies....so sad.

Typo in mind, typo in answer.. :D

I mean stick with patch 1.0003 and all mods that run under it. Bardak's fix is like 1.0004 but not official. This fix/mod rocks!.. Under 1.0004 patched game, Fatrap mods are great. They don't need other mods.

Patch 1.0005 will not exist. Maybe a 1.0006 patch, but now, it's more and more 'vaporware' (at least, I've read that somewhere..)

I have got the same problem...

So, i'm at the red forest mission reight now. My mission is to shot down the antennas. Clear?

I'm choose the forest way, with the mutants, BUT when i kill one of that madafaking white (or grey) wolf, the game crashes. (Not in all of the white wolfs, just one of them couse crash.) I think this don't matter, but i only shoot them with shotgun. :)

This bug trap error report shit makes me crazy.

So, please! Can you tell me what to do, as simply as you can? Becouse i'm not a hacker, or hardcore PC gamer. Just explain it simply, and make sure that i will not lose my saves. :)

(Sorry for my bad language, i'm from Hungary...)
