I'm looking for cpu and graphics cards that you are using to play CS on high or better @1440x900 res or higher. I have an overclocked amd 3800+ @2.4ghz and an ATI 3850 @705/1000mhz and can play the game on high @1440x900res very well. However if I switch to full dynamic or enhanced DL, it cuts my frame rates in half. I don't want full system specs. Just the CPU and video cards you are using and if you are using SLI or Xfire. Also, does anyone think a tri-core or quad core will make a difference compared to my current processor?

im using amd 6400 and a 4870 everything cranked @ 1680x1050 and getting a solid 50ish fps. Althought there are moments when that drops to the 30's. My 8800gt gave me 20's and low teen fps when i did the same settings with it. However I cant for some reason turn on wet surfaces and dont want to patch it now as im already in the game quite a bit and dont want to lose all my saves.

Pretty much anything in either the AMD AM2 Socket with Dual-Core or Intel Core2 Duo should do it for CPU. You'll want 2GB RAM minimum. As for graphics, I'd have to say 4850 or higher for ATI. 9600 or higher for NVIDIA. You can get away with using 86/8800 512MB NVIDIA cards, but for good framerates with those on high settings, you'd want SLI-mode.

You're not running everything 'cranked' if you can't run wet surfaces. That option only un-greys when you run in Enhanced Dynamic Lighting (Dx10). I expect you're on Full Dynamic or Enhanced. I wouldn't bother trying Dx10 though, as that will slay your fps. Even GTX280's only get 30-40 on everything maxed (properly).

I have an 8800GT, Q6600 (quad core intel), 4gb of ram and on Enhanced Lighting and my tweaked high settings, I get 40-50 at 1440x900 resolution. I spent a long time tweaking settings to get best performance, and it looks identical to full Dx10, just minus the wet surfaces and vol. fog.

Oh, and one more thing. Wrong forum. This is SoC not CS.
