Hi, I recently reinstalled S.T.A.L.K.E.R and I updated it to v1.0004 using the official Worldwide patch, and when I got into the game I was reminded of the horridly small inventory space. So I found a way to adjust it but when I try to download the "s.t.a.l.k.e.r._data_upacker.rar" my virusscan pops up saying it is infected with "PAK_Generic.001" which is just my computor "thinking" its infected. However, even after i save it and then try to open it, it gives me an error saying: "the archive is either an unkown format or damaged". I have tried updating winrar, I've tried using winzip, and I've tried downloading from different websites. It all gives me that same error. p.s: sorry for wall of text, help is appreciated!! :D
What anti-virus are you running?
This happens no matter where the file was downloaded from?
The DBExtractor I got is called dbex_rel_en.exe and it works.. Use google 'dbex_rel_en' to find the archive..
Hi, I am running Trend Micro Office scan, and yes this happens no matter where I download it from. And I googled the 'dbex_rel_en' and attempted to download, however I got the same error, only without the "virus" popup.
It looks like the file isn't downloading correctly.
I just tested our file (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Database Extractor, Stalker Downloads, Stalker Miscellaneous) and it works for me.
Hi, well I think I may have gotten it working, although I feel like a COMPLETE idiot for not thinkng of it, all I did was disable officescan and then I found a site where I could download the executable instead of the compressed version, it appears to be working atm. Ill post the link to where i found the .exe for if anyone else is having this problem: FPSBANANA > STALKER - S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-Shadow of Chernobyl > Tools > General & Miscellaneous > Database exractor -- Stalker > Download Thnx for the help. :)
*Sigh* well, after extracting all the files to a "gamedata" folder in the stalker directory I edited one thing (amount of stuff you can carry) and went into the game. It loads up the menu and everything fine but when I try to load a game it loads for like 5 seconds then it closes to desktop with no errors or anything. I also tried running it by starting a new game and it still crashed to desktop with no errors. Please share how to fix it. :P
did you edit the fsgame.ltx file so that it loads via the gamedata folder?
Are you 100% there were no errors in your editing?
Yes, I did edit the fsgame.ltx to what i had found to set it to, it currentsly looks like this: $app_data_root$=true|false|C:\|Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\STALKER-SHOC\ $game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\ $game_ai$ = true| false| $game_data$| ai\ $game_spawn$ = true| false| $game_data$| spawns\ $game_anims$ = true| true| $game_data$| anims\ $game_levels$ = true| false| $game_data$| levels\ $game_meshes$ = true| true| $game_data$| meshes\ $game_dm$ = true| true| $game_data$| meshes\ $game_shaders$ = true| true| $game_data$| shaders\ $game_sounds$ = true| true| $game_data$| sounds\ $game_textures$ = true| true| $game_data$| textures\ $game_scripts$ = true| false| $game_data$| scripts\ $game_config$ = true| false| $game_data$| config\ $level$ = false| false| $game_levels$ $game_saves$ = true| false| $app_data_root$| savedgames\ $logs$ = true| false| $app_data_root$| logs\ $screenshots$ = true| false| $app_data_root$| screenshots\ $downloads$ = false| false| $app_data_root$| downloads\ $mod_dir$ = false | false | $fs_root$ | mods\ I think this is how it should look, if not, please tell what I need to change. :) thnx
Just a quick note : db files aren't meant to be extracted in the Stalker/gamedata folder!! You have to extract them elsewhere (c:/temp, d:/my_stuff/shoc/gamedata, whatever..) Then you create the gamedata folder in Stalker dir and put ONLY the modified files into it, in their respective folder. ex : if I tweak d:/temp/gamedata/config/creatures/m_stalker.ltx and if my game is installed into a c:/Stalker folder, I put my modified file into the c:/Stalker/gamedata/config/creatures folder (running 1.0003 patch. 1.0004 patch may be different).
