We'll start with my hardware stats. I have a core2 extreme qx6700 quad core clocked to 2.93 ghz, Geforce 8800 GTS at 320 mb with latest NGO optimized drivers, 2gb of 800mhz GSkill ram, WD raptor hard drive at 10,000 rpm. I didn't pay for this equipment to have to use the ugly settings in games to achieve an acceptable frame rate :( All other games run fine and fast at maxed out graphics, but STALKER gives me problems, which sucks cuz its like my favorite game. It gets especially bad in areas with lots of man-made structures, and REALLY bad in the sewers/labs X18/X16 and other underground areas. Outdoors, around only the trees and stuff, the problem is hardly noticeable. The NGO optimized drivers helped, but still it isn't at an acceptable level. I'm thinking there must be a driver issue or memory leak or something. It's bumming me out :(

STALKER is a badly made game (especially requirements wise-hopefuly Clear skies will be better). I have brand new equipment (not the best but definitely up to date) and i too can run every game except STALKER on max setting, but with full dynamic lighting i have to have a lower visibility distance and can not have the best texture quality or object quality set - otherwise the game lags. Anyways try the Float32 Mod, it usually reduces lag. The newest version was kinda buggy, but for most it should work. thefloatingpoint.org: News Cant really help you in any other way, dunno what the problem could be but it surprises me that you should have the MOST problems in the small underground levels, which usually are the least lagging ones for most ppl.
