LOD, i knew that.. :lookaround: I mean FAR away, like in SA, if you are in the desert, and you look at the city, all you see is the shapes, there is NO detail at all.
AF is a bit different i thought, it keeps things at an angle from blurring
*Taken from Tweaktown* Anisotropic Filtering: Also referred to simply as Anisotropic (or AF) for short. This is a method which makes textures (the surfaces of all 3D objects) appear cleaner and crisper. Raising the resolution of a game is one way of improving texture appearance, however textures receding into the distance may still become noticeably blurry and their finer features may become indistinguishable even at very high resolutions. Anisotropic Filtering is used to enhance the details of textures, and to reduce the blurriness which occurs on textures that are further away.
So we were both right really :D.
and both off topic.. :nono:
lets get back on topic, shall we??
You can either agree with meor be wrong.

hi guys,
Ive been playing sof2 for a very long time, and a lot of other games, but a always come back to sof2 coz I get bored by other games after a few weeks. but Sof2 is dying and I think STALKER can become my new addiction, im only wondering if I can enjoy it at NORMAL settings, HIGH wont work, i know that.
My current specs are:
AMD Athlon 1800+ 512 DDR GF2 Ti 64 mb
For stalker im gonna update, gonna put another 512 DDR in, and replace my current GFX with the geforce 6600GT, so I will have:
1800+ 1024 MB RAM GF 6600 GT 128mb
you recon this will be enough to play STALKER at resonable quality?
thnx :cya:
Well, after you get more ram and that 6600 you should be ok, your CPU will still be kinda low.....you may get by on Low/Meduim settings....
We will know more when the req specs are released
u should probably get a better processor cause i think S.T.A.L.K.E.R. may have similiar requirments to F.E.A.R. (so many dots to write) and F.E.A.R. (more dots) recommends a 3.0 proccessor :uhm:.
Yay from all the guesses here about system specs mines been one step ahead every time but if Battlefield 2 will run smoothly on medium and horrible on high im not convinced that it will run stalker very well if even at all.
If they get thier optimizations right, it actually could be running on some lower hardware
One thing is for sure you WILL need a card that supports shaders otherwise you will be running into anomolies all day and can't help it
not sure what shaderversion is the minimum, i know im having trouble with the DX9 shaders in F.E.A.R. , not sure if its the DX9 files, or my card...i have no problem with DX8, so i dont think its my card
More details should be released soon, about the specs
