Let me just open by saying that Stardock's anti-piracy scheme works the best out of all the others ever. I borrowed tha game from a friend, and there being no copy-protection as you don't need a disk to play I got stuck in on my own. As I got more and more into the game I started noticing the potential for some fantastic mods, so I went searching and came up with loads! Fantastic! But.... they all use the latest patch? And the only way I can get that patch is buy buying the game (and the expansion(s) in some cases)? Well then, that's fine with me! Totally happy with this, I've now even pre-ordered Diplomacy.
On installation, the newest versions were automatically installed, thus preventing me from installing any of these mods successfully - back to square one! :uhoh: (Well, okay, square one but with a fully patched and expanded game, but still... :P)
So I was wondering, is there any way I can get at the "middle range" patches; the one's I need to install mods? I thought of re-installing, but then that automatically updates to the newest version, I can't get a previous one. I have a disk now so I can get a clean install without patches.
Hey Exodus_499, Im kinda new to SoaSE too - so new infact I havent actually played it yet (Im waiting untill I get my new XPS...) Anyways, sorry, a wee bit off topic - but I would suggest asking CanadaMan7, here at FF (probably PM is the best) as he knows a hell of a lot about SoaSE and its modding quirks etc... good luck mate!
