what program r u trying to open that .glm file in cause i think it onlyopens with modview. to skin weapons u need a paint prog like adobe photoshop or paintshop pro and open the .jpg file of the weapon.

there is a tutorial on setting up the folders for skinningweapons on this site.

The skin looks nice but "flat". Look at the original skin and you'll see that the wooden parts have highlights (shiny parts). Those give the illusion of depth and yours don't have them. Also, the screws on the stock are too far apart. To make the highlights, just create a new layer and use the airbrush to paint white lines where they're supposed to go and then use the blur filter to soften them. Same thing for the scope, but it's easier to make it look shiny.Look at the original and you'll see that it has just a straight line going the whole lenght. To make a scope, just edit the picture. It's in \GFX\MENUS\HUD\SCOPE. Tha main file is named BACKGROUND and it's just 1/4 of the whole thing you see. the picture's proportions are 1/1 and in the game it gets stretched to 4/3 and it's tiled too. I always stretch the file from the original 512x512 to 512x384 and then reset it back to the original size when I'm finished.:)
