Hey.... got the following prob since a few hours : when i want to compile the map ( bsp-> fullvis) my radiant runs the bsp command as usual but when its finished , there is no .bsp file! my friend had that problem once, too ! what to do ? dont want to lose the map !

Of course there is some problem in ur map. But in order to grasp what is hapenning more information is needed.

Take a look of ur junk file (u 'll find it in ur Soldier of Fortune II - Double Helix dir.): if an error occours during the process, the junk 'll tell u What goes wrong.

If this dont help u, then post ur junk and possible more information about the problem :)

FIRST THING:sorry but there is no file called "junk" ! (or could you give me the excact name?) SECOND THING: i removed the files i added ( so the old situation was there when gkt radiant did it in bsp format*hope you know what i mean im not so good at english mate*!):uhoh: THIRD THING: I have no more information to post here as i said , i can´t find a file called "junk" ! *sry*

But, endeed: i dont understend what u 4 trayin to tell me when u say: "i removed the files i added". U was adding files? What files and where?

The name of the junk file is simply "junk", and it is a very estrange thing u r havent it :Puzzled:

More information about the problem can be grasped from ur projects and from the *.map file.

(How many time takes Bsp before elapsing?)

Finally, if fullVis dont work try enable bsp monitoring from preferences and run Q3map2: (simple) BSP -meta or some other debuging option. CYA

This was all I could find about this error. This is a standard q3map error message, not a bug. Q3map generated a badly- formed BSP-tree from your map. Your map probably uses structural brushes in a bad way. One reason you will get this error is if you have made everything in you’re map, including the outer hull, “detail” Select ALL brushers that form the outer hull of you’re map, and make them structural.

This error can be caused by several problems. The two most common are start position in the void or start position on a floor with a detail surfaceparm. Make sure that you place the start position on a floor made out of a solid texture and that it isn't too close to a wall.

This is the most useless error description I've ever read. Anyway, I turned all the brushes on my map into detail brushes to increase speed (my map was choppy). I fixed the error only by setting all brushes touching the void to structural brushes.

humm i t seems u bumped into a Radiant know bug: "Backwards tree volume". (see ur junk above).

I 'm still using GTK v. 1.2.11, and i saw (and fixed) a lot of different common errors, but i never experienced this one. Anyway, since this bug was reported on April 2002, maybe someone knows how to fix it. I suggest to contact Ttimo from Radiant.com: [email]ttimo@idsoftware.com[/email]

ps. 6 mins to compile is nothing, unless ur map is really small... but that is caused by the error: the process aborted. U can try also to reintall GTK (if so, remember: make a backup of ur map and agter uninstall and before to reinstall delete manually any residual folder of the programm from ur PC) Good look
