i've made a map with Gtk Radiant and ive played the bsp file with sof 2 and it works... but when i pk3 it like this: mp_silence/gfx/menus/levelshots/mp_silence.jpg mp_silence/maps/silent.bsp

It still doesnt work... The problem is that, after pasting it in base folder, it doesnt gets recognised by sof. what should i do,

PS Ho knows how to make these 'scripts'

Ok. i'm going to try and do this from memory :) Your files must all have the same name as your bsp exept the pk3 you can name that as anything. so this is what you need as a minimum; mp_silence/gfx/menus/levelshots/silence.jpg mp_silence/maps/silence.bsp mp_silence/scrips/silence.arena mp_silence/readme.txt

The arena file is fairly easy. it is possible to extract an arena file from another map and change the names and game type to suit your map. But I cannot recommend this as it could be seen as naughty. :) The long name is the one shown in the 'in-game' map list and the short name must match your .bsp name. Just so we are clear, when u are ready to pack it up you should select the maps, gfx and scrips folders and your readme.txt then right click. select winzip add to zip.... and in the file path box your file name should end with mp_silence.pk3. This is assuming you don't have any custom textures or sounds.

Here's your problem: your folders are in another folder. your folder structure is like this:

mp_silence/gfx/menus/levelshots/silence.jpg mp_silence/maps/silence.bsp mp_silence/scrips/silence.arena mp_silence/readme.txt

when it should be like this:

gfx/menus/levelshots/silence.jpg maps/silence.bsp scripts/silence.arena

The readme should be in the zip, not in the pk3. and it's SCRIPTS, not SCRIPS.

I think were saying the same thing:):) And yes my spelling can suck sometimes.

More speed less haste. :)

Oh and if you don't put a readme in the .pk3 anyone downloading map ingame won't get it. Put it in both.

same thing, make sure the skin is in the folder models/weapons/ak74 for example and then zip the models folder and rename to pk3
