Okay... I'm very new to the quake engine of mapping much harder than unreal... I downloaded GTK 1.2.10 SOF from THIS website. I load it up and it gives me two error messages. It says, "This is version 4 project file. This build only supports <=3 project files. Please choose another project file or upgrade your version of Radiant."

and another message, "Unable to load project file, GetLastError: Cannot create a file when that file already exists."

Then I kicks me out before I can even get in but it let's me go into preferences before hand...[COLOR=limegreen]PLEASE HELP!!!!!!![/COLOR]

welcom to the mapping world of sof2, you will like it, for sure. in the beginning it maybe a bit hard, but it's worth it!

maybe it's better that you take the gtk 1.2.13, this ed. is the latest best working gtk. i know there is 1.3.8 and more, but they are still in development. why you should take 1.2.13, you only have to install it, and that's it!! no project settings and all of that, it does it all automaticly!

download the 1.2.11 and the 1.2.13, install 1.2.11, and over it install 1.2.13.

it will take you maybe 10 minutes, but after it you can build emediatly! so, succes!!

Hey, i've also been thinking about mapping for SoF2. I know Unreal fine, but I really dont know this engine. So I have a few questions.

How complex of BSP can this engine handle?

How many polys can this engine handle on screen? (Before a big preformance hit)

How does this engine handle meshs compared to BSP? (Does the engine load into the memory once, so the engine will bring them up fast and painlessly?)

How complex of meshs can this engine handle? (Say...8 onscreen, at 50 each, like some nice little lights)

How does this engine handle BSP with lots of sides? Smooth cut aways always look nice.

I hear somewhere that the editor can make "curved polys". Is that even possible? I think they might be called, patches...

:)

ARG! Who's friggin attacking my thread?! Lol just kidding with ya Dog X...yep Unreal was cool...but let's answer the thread's question first and then on to yours...so... anyone have a clue where I can find V. 1.2.11 and 1.2.13???

what all the other questions conserns from Dog x, i realy could tell you that. i know a lot of mapping, when i may say so, but tmore the creative side, not the technical.

Hay guys it worked! I can get into the editor... thanks for helping and giving a quick responce... just one more thing, Any clue where I can find Sof2 Mapping Tutorials (Beginners ofcourse)????
