Well like i did with my desert camo m4 i used transparent mode: Overlay so the black screen behind the gun would be left and the bumps the screws etc...with using the transparent mode: multiply it will be like double the color or the textures opacity.
i hope that answers your question.
how do i do that?????????!!
do you use photoshop?
well if you do use photoshop then look up and then left you will see Mode:Normal and change to Overlay.

If the words Screen, Multiply, Overlay, Dodge, Burn or Opacity sound foreign to you, you need to learn your Photoshop first. Just Google for Photoshop tutorials on layers and Blending modes.
Or he can look at the photoshop help searching blending mode.
I GOT THE OVERLAY THINGY BUT THE COLOR FROM THE TEXTURE I MADE IS NOT THERE EXCEPT THE DODGE TOOL HIGHLIGHT. how do i put the m4 in transparent mode that you were talking about?how do i make the black screen behind the gun left?
Did you Merged the layers?
Ok ill show you an example how did i used blending modes on my desert camo m4.
Step 1:When you click on the checkboxes on every layer you will see a chain icon.
Step 2:Now when you checked all of your layers then go to.
Step 3:Now when you merged all the layers now you can drag your texture to the gun and then set it to overlay example.
