Ok. I've been reading dosens of map editing tutorials and searched for map editors, but nothing has sticked. I have the SoF2 SDK 1.02 installed, but I can't spot a map editor in there. So my question is simple: How the hell do I edit the maps and with what programs? If could just get it to work I could figure out the rest from there.
man... you cant edit no compiled map, (single player maps are compiled). u can only edit saved maps (.map files) and not the compiled ones (.bsp) with the sdk you can only create maps from scratch ! oh and you realy should update your sdk, 1.03 is now available.
dont use the SDK it sucks, use GTKradiant www.qeradiant.com so much better.
So there's no way in hell I could edit the SP maps? God damn it. What's the point in making a perfect SP mod, if you can't edit the SP.
I dont know about modding so i cant say but you could ask a man called fragger you can find his site from here www.planetsoldier.com if i rember righly just click on the hosted section and go from there its not hard to find.Im pretty sure hes a mr modder man.
you can use the newest q3map2 (www.shaderlab.com) to decompile maps. only textures are fooked a bit, but you perfectly get all the architecture and so. also get q3map2toolz from www.google.com and use the -convert -format map parameters in BSP and press build and it will be decompiled. also, get gtk from www.qeradiant.com as it is a much better map editor
As long as I can edit some objects in the map and some other stuff (like music) I'll be fine.
