i don't get it right, and i don't know why!

earlyer i did ask about the angle, because my sliding door, activated by trigger does go only 20 cm back, instead of going down, as it should with a key;angle, vlaue;-2

so, now i'f made 3 sliding door with trigger beside each other, the first one i did give for a value; -2(down), the second one; -1(up), and the last one a value of 90, for go to left.

but in the game activated they all just keep on going 20 cm back, all 3 of them.

i even have made the floor big enough so the sliding door could go totaly down in to the floor, (because a entitie can give problems in the void).

what is it that's wrong??

(i need this sliding option very hard, otherwise a great idear of mine can't be made in the end of map nr. 2 of 4).

sorry banana, but it doesn't work, hope you read this, otherwise i will sent you a pm.

i did try to make also a sliding door, but now like you did. but when i select my door and put i9n it under the r.mouse.b func_door. i get the small cube func-door. i can choose door_slidingdoor or door_rotatingdoor, but that's not the way you did it, it doesn't work also. please, i can understand that you get a littlebit sleepy(don't know how you write tired)with me and my door. but please try it once more. because i can't build on now, and the idear that i have is great, you will see later. so, i make a door, put in the bottum corner a cube (func-door), give it a trigger with the normal keys/value, but how do i give the door itself the func_door.

i can't use your door, otherwise i should have done that, but when i take your door and copy it into my map the hole door is gone in the game, (think it's because the sp and multi[playerthink).

l banana, could it otherwise maybe be possible that i sent you a little bsp and map file from my slidingdoor. it's nearly the same as yours, maybe you would be so kind to take a look at it so maybe you can see what i'm doing wrong. you would be an even bigger help as useall.

and i'm not too sure about the little cube, i think you have to make the 'door' the func_door, and not make a little cube, try selecting the door, press N and select func_door

or otherwise just copy my door and trigger and paste it in your map :D

i have already try to copy yours into mine, but because your doortest.map has a multiplayer start i can't copy it into my sp strat map. this is normal, i had a lot tutmaps from the net, and because there always multiplayer you can't use them in a map with a single player start, because you don't see the door. it's realy true, i did try it a lot, all the entities are gone . so ccopy it is no option. i did try also to deleat your mp start and put a single start in it, but than the door is also gone.

and with that little cube i ment the thing that you get when you do r.mouse b func_door, than you get a little green cube, you know.

in your doortest.map you have made your into a func_door, and also in at the bottum corner of this real door a little cube, the fuinc_door.

my question is, how did you make the real door into a func-door?

when i try that, (select real door, r.mouse. b) func_door, than the door deselect, and i get a second little green cube, also a func-door.

it's a lot to read, i know, but i can't explane it otherwise in short terms.

i know it's a lot to ask, but could you make again a doortest.map, but now with a SINGLEPLAYERSTART(info-player-start,) in it.

to make a real door into a func door use the entity screen and go to func_door, but i see that there are different doors for sp, rotating and sliding... try asking on the raven forums, cuz i'm afraid i can't help you on this one... cuz i looked at the .map file and it looked fine to me, i guess its a sp issue then :S

i'm glad that it wasn't only something i didn't seem to do right, now i know for sure that there are big differences between sp and dm what entities concers. thanks anyhow lethal banana, i will look at that forum for it.
