You cant really edit your sounds unless you just adjust attack/ sustain/ and delay of a cound. Sounds are found in PAK. 3 files like maps are. I use a program called PAK SCAPE to check out files like models, skins and sounds. They open up like a normal directory and subdirectory. You could switch them around with sounds from other weapons ( EG medal of honor gun sounds replacing SOF2 sounds ) as long as they are in the same format. If you have a top-end sound card ( Audigy/Audigy 2 ), they usually come with a bundle sound mixer application. You can also look for a program called "Sound Forge". If you have some custom sounds that you really like, chances are that they were compiled using Sound FORGE.

Sound Forge i believe is made by Sonic Foundry, but i may be wrong. ACID Xpress Pro by Sonic Foundry is another great sound editor.

just use the same name and same folder structure as the original sound and put it in your mp folder

for example: sound X was located in the pk3 sound.pk3 in the folder sound/weaponX/soundX.wav then make a folder in your mp named sound/weaponX/ and put soundX.wav in there... easy

and btw you don't need pakscape, winrar or winzip will do just fine...
